oh my god... no...... Prince's Hot Chicken on Ewing Drive Will Not Reopen Though its South Nashville location remains open, the legendary chicken shack is now permanently closed https://www.nashvillescene.com/food...-princes-hot-chicken-location-will-not-reopen
“This is the first year since we have been in business that we weren't somewhere in North Nashville,” Jeffries tells the Scene. “We weren't somewhere in North Nashville, so we've got to get back down there. We have several things in the works, but we don't want to announce it yet, because they just kept on, and asking about Ewing, and I told them it was coming, it's coming. [Fans] are really disappointed. Somebody said that it was like a funeral procession, people passing by [the Ewing location], going up the street or down the street, and they'd look over.” In the meantime, Prince’s fans can still get the original hot chicken at the South Nashville location, near the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard and Nolensville Pike, or at a food truck stationed at Yee Haw brewery downtown. A third location will open at the Museum of African American Music next year. Jeffries says they’re looking for a new North Side location. “You got to make sure the money is right, but we're definitely are looking,” she says. “We're making some negotiations, have mercy. We're going to have to hurry up and do something. My stoves and deep fryers are in storage.” ___ at least they saved the fryers
I mean, I guess. It wasn't nice, but it was a staple in the North Nashville community. I hope they get it back in a similar location. I don't need every restaurant to look like Proper Bagel on the inside
I agree with this sentiment but honestly... the only reason is white folk would even go in there was to eat hot chicken and talk about how ghetto it was. Kind of like a red badge of courage for going.
I went there for the chicken. I always enjoyed my time there. I honestly got annoyed at how people spoke about it. I hope their new spot keeps the same character as the old one. The one at the African American museum can get gentrified and stay open late for those on broadway.
I'm sure it hurts, but there are enough diners to go around. Also, a shorter line at Bolton's is good for the consumer (me).
Prince's > Pepperfire > 400 Degree's / Bolton's > Hattie B's Prince's has the best chicken. Bolton's has the best selection of sides. Pepperfire has the best quality sides. 400 Degrees has the friendliest service and a unique tasting rub. Hattie B's has online ordering that is convenient, I guess I've learned to fry my own chicken tenders and apply a rub/oil I bought online. It is much closer to hot chicken than anyone has got out here in Denver, even though we have 2 places solely trying to do Hot Chicken. And about 25 different hot chicken dishes. I'll settle for Hattie B's opening a shop out here like they did in Vegas
I basically have these major points: 1. I don't really like Briley all that much 2. Carol Swain and her anti-LGBT and islamophobic shit is terrible. 3. I think it'll be a run-off between Cooper and Briley. Basically, I'm anyone but Swain....but I'll probably vote for Briley just to make sure Swain doesn't win.
Looks like I was right about the run-off between Cooper and Briley. Switching my vote to Cooper for the run-off. Excited to have a different mayor. Also, vote for Zulfat Suara. She's a good friend and a great human being. Doesn't deserve all the death threats and shit she gets from the deplorables.
Where is the best place to donate used clothes specifically dress clothes to people in need? Where maybe they would go to someone trying to get a job interview or need them for a new job?
What don't you understand? I'm looking for a place besides Goodwill to donate my clothes. There are places that have dress for success programs to give free clothes to people in need of they are willing and able to look for a job. That's just one example. Also learned sober living houses could be another option because those guys may have just gotten out of rehab. They may not have a pair of dress slacks or button up.
Had a cancelled appointment this morning at 10, so I ran over there and dropped off some shirts and pants. Thanks for the rec. Cut the back way from Metro center down DB Todd on my way. Passed Planned Parenthood and saw a few families with their children out there protesting. On the way back I wanted to roll down my window and heckle them. But I didnt because of the children. And I guess they were peacefully protesting. whatever.
Did you take your homeschooled kids to picket outside planned Parenthood today? No. Okay your kids learned more today than they did. I wasnt trying to dig all homeschooling.
Ha I know you weren’t. I made fun of homeschool kids growing up so I’m still a little defensive now that I’m a parent of them.
Couple factors. Wife is an elementary school teacher by trade, but has been staying home with our three kids. First kid went to kindergarten and 1st grade at public school (Williamson). Wife and I both went to mostly public school growing up. Wife really didn’t like his K teacher and 1st was slightly better but not much. Oldest is pretty smart but has some adhd issues. Lots of frustration with the general direction of the school system. We decided it would be worth trying to homeschool based on my wife’s education and my son’s needs, as we aren’t in a comfortable position to do private school K-12 for three kids. It’s gone really well. Middle child decided she wanted to homeschool for kindergarten this year. Gonna homeschool for elementary school and then reassess public vs private for middle and high school.
Don't forget Live on the Green starts this Thursday. Luice Silvas 6-630 Yola 645-730 The Strumbellas 745-9 Gary Clark Jr. 930-11
Also I saw video of TOs swing. It was ugly but he apparently still hit a bomb and robbed someone in the outfield. Guess you can do that when you look like you can still play in the NFL.
Don’t know about it being cool but there are decent houses out there and I’ve heard real estate guys say it’s one of the last places left for “affordable” housing that isn’t a bad drive to downtown...
What’s some good elementary schools in the cool parts of Nashville I don’t know how well to trust the Zillow school scores
Hello gents, I'll be in Nashville in a few weeks and was wondering if I could get some recommendations for hot chicken?
That’s my personal order. I think most would be pretty close just rearranging numbers 2-4 depending on preference
right. But they hope to stay in that area. I think they'll open up on Broadway soon, which will be a shit show
Everything on Broadway is already a shit show. What could have been with a Paradise Park / Prince's combo.
