Settle down. I googled "kids golf club exchange program" thinking something like that had to exist and it was one of the first results.
Played a quick round on vacation today. Hit a 235 yard 4 iron to 3’ and sank the eagle putt Drove the green from ~320 yards, two putts, and a birdie Was -2 on the four par 3s I’m not a golfer who can regularly go -5 on a stretch... Spoiler ...and today was no different because these were all second balls after butchering the firsts. price-is-right-losing-horn.wav I’m not a big second ball player, but the course was literally empty and it was comical what was happening after a while.
Resurrecting this post from last year. Headed to Hilton Head over Labor Day and Harbour Town looks to be about $250 green fee while the two other Sea Pines courses are quite a bit less. Do people still agree that this is the general consensus and Harbour Town is overpriced just because it's a Tour course? Any other places on the island that might be more worth it? I was thinking the Palmetto Dunes courses looked really nice and those are also quite a bit cheaper
In a one and done league where we have mini pools for majors, west coast swing and fed ex. Also everyone has 5 double downs if they choose to pay the fee. Long story short some guy got incredibly lucky to start the year and ran away. However I have 3 double downs and kept Brooks, DJ and JT and woods. Is there a order you would play them in order to try to win mini pool?
At this point I think you have to save Brooks for East Lake, looks very likely he'll get the 10 stroke lead to start there. DJ at Liberty seems as good a time as any to use him. No clue what Medinah is like nowadays but I feel like I remember it being really right in Ryder Cup replays of the Miracle so I don't know that Tiger is a great option there but it depends on who your other choices are that you could use that week
I agree Brooks as leader at Tour makes a lot of sense. Dj this week seems like the play. Other than woods I got Justin Thomas, Bubba, Louie, and some other lower guys I will evaluate
I haven’t played Harbourtown but I’ve dropped some coin in the clubhouse. Will definitely play one day with my son when he’s able to play. I have played Palmetto Dunes which is really nice. I also enjoyed both Robber’s Row and Barony at Port Royal. Went with my dad for those two and we had a blast. I also played the Pete Dye course at Sea Pines. Can’t remember the name. It was great too.
Rates are going to go up after labor day there, so if you are dying to play harbor town that's a great time. Is you are a single or a double then do it, if you've got a big group go relax and play somewhere else for cheaper. The other two courses heron point and Atlantic dunes are usually solid picks. Im not really familiar with any other public courses on the island. I do know old south golf Links right off the island is a fun course with some good views and super reasonable price. It's going to be a tier lower than anything in sea pines though.
I'll be playing as a single. Harbour Town is at least $100 more than Atlantic Dunes for the times I was looking at, quite a bit more when you factor in caddy tip. I was kind of thinking it'd be a fun splurge round and just accept that the price is inflated for the Tour. So basically you can't really go wrong is what I'm hearing
Do it. If you are playing as a single then I would do HT with a caddie for the company. The first time I played there was without one and didn't feel like I was missing anything. It's not a course that you really need one from a course management standpoint. Everything is pretty much what you see is what you get. The greens are fairly mundane. The course is so narrow that your line off the tee is pretty much decided for you, but of you want the whole experience then you might as well pitch in for one.
I paid $450 for a round at Harbor Town back in October 2018. Also paid a caddie. I really loved the course and enjoyed the round but thought it was quite overprices - I think Pebble is $550 or something.
Friday starts an annual golf trip in NC for several members on this esteemed board. Fargin' Icehole is still not one of them:Tebow:
Too much man meat in one place. I wouldn't be able to control myself. Especially if Sween the Peen is going.
Did get pulled over by the Navy on the way to play a round across the Bay last Friday. They didn't like us headed at their submarine.
If there’s a nicer course in Alabama, I haven’t seen it. That track is incredible. They ended up cancelling the tournament due to lack of participation, apparently only like 5 kids signed up. I ended up just making a quick day trip and we played the front 9 (6 over). Layout, views, immaculate condition, Zyosia fairways, bent greens, course was wide open, weather was perfect, fam jam time, it was great. I’m fired up to go back and play 18. Also heard the fam is relocating to your block here shortly (t & p’s) so I’m stopping by next time I’m in the neighborhood. This is the course for those interested. They just signed a five-year deal to host a Web.com event starting April 2020. I definitely plan on attending. https://www.theledges.com/Golf.aspx Nephew pre-bombage From website
Glad you got to play. Let me know next time you’re up this way and we’ll play 18. I like the back better. And yes, they’re going to be a few houses down. Looking forward to it.
Also, DJ/Rahm/Webb are playing together and not a featured group. Instead we get Poston/Piercy and old ass Tiger.. He's +4 already.
Hit a house today....hard. Well the roof, like 6 times before it rolled into the gutter and clanged thru the downspout.
These Bryson vids making the rounds are ridiculous. It's hilarious that those in charge don't even try to make any changes
Women's Scottish Open currently on Golf Channel and they've fully leaned into showing the perfect swing of Anne van Dam as she's been featured today
The first isn't as bad as the second. At least he was waiting on other people and let Fleetwood play first. I do think they should allow range finders. Make it so only one person (player or caddie but not both) can use it. That would eliminate a lot of the walking offs and save time.
