that’s the best flavor for sure Lyrtch get a brisket taco, a jalapeño sausage kolache, cherry maple beef jerky, and a bag of beaver nuggets at a minimum
I've never been. Really it's the amount of time my wife will waste in one. I'm not trying to make an hour pit stop while traveling.
Hill country is nice. Go float a river and hit up the wineries and farmhouse breweries. Dfw and Houston aren’t much for visiting.
DFW area is for the wedding so will mostly be tied up with that. Figure we'll spend a night or two in Houston to crush some good food.
any place downtown is going to be a short enough uber ride to Celestial, Peticolas, and Four Corners, plus TMB approved gastropub Meddlesome Moth, scene of the famous first meetup with Zack Zedalis for a.tramp and me Brewery-wise stay away from Community and Deep Ellum And as I've already told you, try to get out to Turning Point
Or you could stay in Ft Worth and visit Collective and HopFusion. Martin House puts out good beers but our one visit to their brewery was pretty lame - limited selection and nowhere to sit.
Downtown Dallas. Omni is a good spot if you find a special. Canvas is a cool boutique hotel with a rooftop bar with a and great view.
Corky Bucek Don't take this advice. Downtown Dallas is like Downtown Atlanta, but more touristy and slightly more safe. There are a couple of cool bars and some nice theaters, but it's not somewhere I would ever go. I've lived here since 2011 and have gone out Downtown less than 10 times. Oaklawn is the gay neighborhood, which may be perfect since you're an Auburn fan lol You don't want stay in Arlington (where the stadium is located). It's awful. Stay in Uptown (not Downtown) and go out in Uptown, Deep Ellum, Lower Greenville, and Knox Henderson.
don’t send them to deep ellum there’s already enough fucking people in my neighborhood stay downtown Corky Bucek
also i wasn’t saying they should go out in oak lawn, but there are a few really nice hotels in the area, and it’s basically uptown anyways
My favorites: Brewery: Peticolas (not necessarily my favorite beer. I just like the brewery) Mexican/Tex-Mex: Meso Maya (my favorite upscale Mexican), Mia's (best casual; good for lunch), and Mi Cocina (food is very average, but I include it because it's good for groups). Casual: Common Table Steak: Town Hearth (best atmosphere and perhaps best steak) and Knife (probably the best steak) BBQ: Cattleack (long drive and only open for lunch) and Pecan Lodge Pizza: Cane Rosso (this may be my overall favorite restaurant in Texas) Seafood: Trulucks Day drinking bars: Katy Trail Ice House (Uptown), Truckyard (Lower Greenville), and Dot's (Deep Ellum). Night bars: My wife doesn't let me go out anymore.
When I moved to Dallas, you told me to Richardson and Irving were the best areas to live in DFW. You don't get an opinion on these matters.
thanks for caping for Arlington but while it's a fine place to live it's not where I would recommend visitors stay
You're right. Oaklawn/Turtle Creek/Uptown do all kind of merge together, and there are some really solid hotels in those areas.
Sure, definitely go out in Uptown or Deep Ellum but everything is a 5-10 minute Uber ride. Not that far and there are more affordable hotel options. I can second that Celestial is a must visit. For bbq go to Lockhart’s instead of Pecan Lodge. If you’re feeling dessert in that area, Emporium Pies is tasty
Listen shithead, next time you decide to put down Richardson why don't you go ahead and tag me so we can take this to the nearest Publix parking lot.
To be fair, I was in my 20s when dump gave me that advice. I have an aunt in Richardson and a lot of Indian clients. I like it.
