Read the article from The Hollywood Reporter, which isn't exactly a fly-by-night or right-wing publication: link.

Not sure if you’re being serious. We are going to become the conspiracy theorist we hate and make fun of please let’s take a step back and Be Best.
If a right wing talking head says something your default reaction should be to assume the opposite is true.
Just had to sit through my weekly rotary club meeting and the speaker was a town LEO. The topic was active shooters and what to do. The q&a following the presentation from him and all the boomers twice my age was one of the most maddening things ever. Every nra/gop talking point was hit and agreed upon by everyone. “These young kids just sit in front the tv shooting things all day” “No one goes to church anymore” “All these fathers are absent from these people’s lives”
It sounds a lot like Surviving the Game with Ice T and there was a Steve Austin movie where they hunted humans for sport. I don't recall people bitching when it was rich people hunting poor people. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surviving_the_Game
Ahem. Aren’t we forgetting the immortal classic “Hard Target” with Jean Claude Van Dam sporting a mullet?
As a costal elite, I openly advocate hunting coal miners for sport and will only watch films depicting the same.
We have plenty of movies were one social class hunts members of a lower social class. I mean come on guys.
I did find that article quoting the script and I'm apparently wrong. It appears the movie is portraying evil leftist elites playing a game where they hunt ordinary, salt of the earth Trumpers, making it a pro right wing, anti-Globalist revenge fantasy where the downtrodden Trumpers rise up against the Coastal Elites. Which doesn't make Probosiec right, of course.
I just clicked on the linked article posted in this thread. I didn't know who Jack Posobiec was and I didn't look up the publisher as I wrongly assumed the link was to an entertainment website. The article included an attribution to the Hollywood Reporter which is an entertainment website without political leanings quoting the the movie script. "Did anyone see what our [expletive]-in-chief just did?” one character asks others early in the movie, reported the Hollywood Reporter. “At least The Hunt’s coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables.” It could be a total fabrication but if that language is in the movie it is very specific to modern politics. The movie could literally end with both sides hugging and admitting we should all get along and i'd still worry about some 8chan nut job shooting up a Hollywood studio to get back at the libs. If the movie has zero to do with modern politics and is just a remake of an old movie then its just another movie I won't watch because that shit isn't interesting to me.
It's what Shu would have wanted, after all. I mean the becoming alternative reality thought leaders like him.
My point is simple. We have plenty of movies were the rich kill the poor. Generally those movies are seen as shitty works of fiction. No one complains about us being mean to the poor because of them. No one says “hey people are going to start hunting the homeless” because of them. I don’t see why this would be any different.
Can’t believe it’s taken this long for anyone to mention Hostel, where naive young travelers are plied with sex and booze by poor small town folk who are themselves kept in line with unlimited drugs so that the travelers can be hunted and tortured by the very wealthy for fun.
Everything you said is true. My point is if the movie has specific references to modern politics it would make for a very divisive movie theater experience. I don't want to think about people from both political parties sitting there rooting for their side to kill the other. That's a recipe for disaster.
Best part of this movie shit is let’s worry about how trumptards feel about a work of fiction and ignore the 680 undocumented immigrants that were rounded up yesterday. Fuck the kids who had to sleep in schools gyms because their parents had the audacity to want to provide a better life by doing the shit work no one else does.
Instead of calling the poor people Donald Trump supporters, call them Ronald Stump supporters. Most Trump fans wouldn’t make the connection. Win, win.
If the poors are the trumptards in the movie real life trumptards aren’t going to identify with them anyway so it’s all good.
and the greedhead companies that knowingly hired them so they wouldn't have to pay decent wages and benefits
It just seems like we’re discussing and seem to care more about the movie than about the undocumented immigrants that were rounded up in Mississippi yesterday.
and they released 300 of them already, and didn't do anything to the owners because terrorizing people, especially labor, is the point
