Ran across this beauty on the golf course Friday. Thought it was a huge racer, but very yellow belly tells me King.
This poor little guy got stuck under my garage door. My wife celebrated and I was really sad. Good snake. Scarlet King right Owsley?
If I ever come face to face with a Black Mamba I'll probably just curl up into a ball and let it kill me. After shitting myself of course.
Thought it was. Was cleaning up some trash from my deck reno. Grabbed some wood and started to walk when this fucker fell out right between my legs, pretty much gave me a heart attack. Wasn't very big though, baby I'm sure but he got the ax. Few minutes later was back cleaning the pile but this time being pretty aware there might be more snakes in there, that's when I found momma, she got the ax too. I wouldn't have killed them but was fairly certain they were copperheads and with a 2 year old running around, wasn't risking it.
Piles gone now so I'm sure they've moved to my neighbors yard. It's massively overgrown so plenty of places for them to hang out.
Can’t tell you you did the wrong thing but the snake really didn’t want anything to do with you, your family or kid If you just left it slither away you would have never seen it again
Wish I had my phone on me when mowing the other day Came across what I thought was a young diamondback at first, slithering along the fence in my backyard I actually approached it on the mower expecting it to coil up in defense, but it didnt and I noticed the head looked too narrow It did seem to have markings on the tip of the tail that looked like markings but appear to be rattles at first glance Circled around to put the dog in the house and grab my phone, but I never found him again
theyre in Maryland in NoVa too - always heard about them when I lived up there. https://dnr.maryland.gov/fisheries/Pages/snakehead.aspx
Does anyone follow chander's wildlife youtube channel. The Redskins game was so boring that I went down a youtube rabbit hole this afternoon, currently watching this 1. It's pretty fascinating.
Owsley , what do you think about these crazy people that own king cobras/vipers. I'm in some weird youtube binge today but not sure what to think of these people. Do you think it's ok to own these snakes way outside their native habitat or are these dudes just fucked up. All I know is I'm gonna have fucked up snake dreams for some time.
I have a buddy that has a couple different pairs of rattle snakes he breeds and at one time, owned a gaboon viper.
The other 2 seem like mostly thrill seekers, Chandler seems like he cares about animals more but does crazy shit that's gonna likely get him at some point.
Not sure. Seems like the guy has some money from his tattoo business though. He's got a ton of animals and seems to do some cool stuff. https://www.instagram.com/tylernolantattoos/
Ran over this little guy just now. Honestly didn't even notice him until I was right on him or else I would've stopped. He was crossing the street heading into the dog park Spoiler
Same guy next year: My herd/crop is getting decimated by an out of control prairie dog population. Better get an AR-15 and govt subsidy to help out!
