Scrimmage report ▪ Martell had the cleanest scrimmage in terms of not committing a turnover but was sacked a half dozen times and looked tentative when the pocket collapsed, the official said Martell had some success throwing underneath but didn’t do a lot of damage downfield. He gained decent yards on designed runs, but Greg Rousseau flustered him and was often in his face
The more I hear, the less likely it seems he will be out there He’s struggled with basic throwing mechanics since day one
Could be wrong but I feel as if #Ohio State Buckeyes fans pretty much said this about him when he transferred, but I was wrong once before
Still think it was a flyer worth taking. It’s Not like we are putting all of our eggs in that basket. Perry sucks but we have Jarren Williams on the roster who is unproven and a 4 star kid coming next year.
He’s always thrown the best ball, but I think the issues comes when it’s live. Seen reports that he has decision issues.
Saw one reporter say Perry really struggles when he gets pressured and has to make a decision Seems like a recipe for disaster vs a Grantham defense if he were to be out there week 1
I have a feeling Burrow gets drafted. I'm not saying something outlandish like 1st or 2nd round. But I could definitely see the dude being a day 3 pick.
They said our last scrimmage had a ton of sacks, but our D-line is also going to be scary good again So whoever it is, at least they’ll be used to having zero protection and improvising Tathan’s scrambling ability is probably the only reason he is still in the starter conversation
I only saw him play twice last year, but my sense was an undrafted free agent. I like Burrow, I just think he plays above his talent.

I have my own opinions on the quarterbacks, but I wanted to pass on info I have been gathering. I have been speaking with a number of other reporters from the various newspapers and TV stations who have also been at practice. I have also spent time talking to a number of reporters for other websites as well basically to just listen to their opinions because we all have different backgrounds and see things differently. In talking to all of these people and certainly I haven’t been able to talk to every single person, but there is nobody who has said Tate Martell has looked the best in the preseason. However, a number of the reporters believe Martell will be named the starter. Just wanted to pass this on before an announcement was made.
