Someone with a medical background want to tell me how to think about the shades of red to purple Brock turns?
Switched to the app on my phone and audio is 3-5 seconds behind instead of the 10-15 ahead it was on my computer...that is more tolerable so it isnt at least all a spoiler. missed a good chunk of the match messing around with it too
Crowd more behind him than I expected....but meh. Not looking forward to another Seth baby face reign
So Brock went from looking like an unstoppable force to a chump. I'm fine with that, but it seems Braun should be doing that and not Seth.
I liked the show, but WWE really needs a great and memorable PPV to break out of their funk. What's the last one that really stands out? Mania 30?
So they just had their 2nd biggest card of the year and didnt use Bryan, Reigns, Joe, Bruan, Drew, Miz, Aleister Black, Andrade, Nakamura, Ali, Asuka, or Kairi among others... Some solid matches but an awfully booked show with awful build imo makes it a thumbs down from me
I agree, wwe hit a new low to make a crowd full of snarks in a great wrestling city be so apathetic hosting the second most important wwe ppv. I didn’t enjoy the show much as a whole. As far as last memorable show, probably the last mania for me. I was satisfied after that one.
The new bray theme reminded me of the ultra ill numetal remix of kane’s theme. Best part of the night was him.
Kinda amazed that it looked like they spent about 97% of the shows production budget on Bray's new entrance.
It's crazy how fast the tournament started and ended. Was an enjoyable watch. Only 3 weeks to All Out now. Then a few shorts weeks to TV where everything changes I'm sure for American wrestling.
AEW is going to have a real chance to do well. WWE I thought would respond better to their arrival, but they have not. Raw and SD at times have been slightly better but nothing special. They had a chance to win back fans at SS and gave a very meh show. There was nothing really wrong with it, but nothing memorable about it at all. They are in a lot more danger with AEW than I ever expected when AEW was announced Edit just to clarify I don't think wwe is in danger of going out of business or anything like that. Just in danger of losing way more fans than I would have thought
I think so, I hope fans are as patient with them as they have been with WWE. They've been eating shit sandwiches from Vince off and on for years with an occasional steak dinner thrown in. I'm sure they have a lot of good ideas at AEW for the weekly, but not everything is going to be a hit. They're going to grow and learn as they go a lot. Honestly I'm just looking forward to having some real storytelling and long term booking. Only having 4-5 PPVs a year means they don't have to rush matches and can build up cards really well. Something WWE is clearly lacking.
Outside of Randy and Kofi which they booked to continue, I hope most the feuds hit a reset now We dont need to see Seth v Brock again. No one wants to see Natalya in another title fight. Ember Moon was booked so poorly that in no way can you give her another title match right now. Please give Shane a break. Ricochet needs to move away from AJ into a feud he can win.
I love how that mess of a female tag storyline went from trying to build up Kabuki Warriors with Paige to a hard pivot for Alexa lol, reddit nerds so mad about it.
Whole female division is a mess. Not enough talent for 2 single belts and a tag belt to keep compelling feuds and matches on all. Horrible booking has played a role too, but they really have no challengers ready for any of the belts that have any momentum. I mean they could go back to Charlotte, but that would annoy most people again but there are no real other options. There are no good options without bringing back Ronda or Sasha.
Doesn't help that the top female in the company is all character work and mediocre ring skills, she can't carry anyone who's not great in the ring. So everyone looks bad really.
There is no great all around performer in the womens division. Charlotte is better in ring but cant cut a believable promo and has been way over pushed to the point a lot of fans are sick of her. Bayley and Natalya are fine in ring, but both are completely awful on the mic. Ember Moon similarly is rough on the mic. Sasha struggles at times on the mic and is prone to botches in ring.
Other than "away" I have no idea where they go with Brock after taking a clean loss in a title rematch.
Honestly hope they can figure out some big matches for him that are outside of the title picture, cause he certainly has a big fight appeal and is a draw.
My biggest takeaway from the weekend is that Beth Phoenix is the worst announcer I have ever heard. She is so bad. Most of her comments come off like she might be asking a question but really isn't sure or she just stops mid sentence and goes silent.
That's not a gimmick I think would go well on a weekly show and multiple ppv....but I guess some people will like that signing
