It depends on the culture. When I lived in the white/Cuban neighborhoods of Miami "punk" was used in the SoCal skate/punk scene context (Offspring, Descendants, Bad Religion, etc...). When I lived in a black neighborhood, "punk" was used to insinuate man was gay. That's just how it was.

I’m a big fan of comedy and comedians being given more room to explore language for humor than other public figures and the transgressive nature of comedy in general.
