I'd say it's almost 100% that he steals it - and possibly won't even be aware he wasn't the one that came up with it.
buddy,,, there is nothing more freaking epic than listening to a mentally challenged kid talk in an insufferable accent. it’s so dank
Yeah but have you ever heard how funny it is when he adds “bag” to the end of a word? It’s So sick lol especially when he’s referencing women
ever since Dave started talking about the blue checkmark brigade being a bunch of nobody’s it really has been fun to read their twitter bios This guy is no exception
How can someone struggle so hard to get a joke. I understand how people are going for the union stuff but the burner account? Jesus man
serious question for barstool ppl: yes, it was p obvious that the guy was just doing a bit and i cringed at some of the lefty ppl on my timeline not understanding that. at the same time, how many stupid-ass chuds who also don't understand the bit did they add to their fanbase as a result? (on top of the ones they already have)
I’m not too concerned as to whether someone loves, likes, dislikes or hates barstool, but when did it become necessary for everybody and their mother to have to chime in on twitter re: their personal stance on barstool and Dave?
Aa others have said, it seems like barstool has thrived on controversy from the earliest days. They definitely subscribe to the all press is good press maxim (blackout parties, Tom Brady kid controversy, deflategate arrest). That being said, I always find it really funny that barstool has reached a critical mass and found a way to monetize its content in a way that other progressive “journalism” outfits have not (sbnation, deadspin, ringer). They have chosen a different (controversial) lane but they are miles ahead of others in terms of brand loyalty and monetization.
I think Barstool is much more satirical than those other sites, and also puts their people out there more. A lot of what they do is based around in office drama and ridiculousness and the actual sports content is more filler/takes a back seat often times.
Agree and think the last 36 hours support that fact. That being said, it’s funny to me how that translates to revenue and brand connectedness.
while i am sure its bc of the union controversy with pres, i am hoping it is because she said something really dumb and her staff is trying to stop it
people tend to sound off on polarizing topics didn’t dave say something to the effect of deserving to be raped if you’re a size six and wear skinny jeans? obviously he doesn’t actually believe that but if that’s a joke you’re going to attach to your ‘schtick’ you’re going to get this type of pile-on anytime you say/do something remotely brutish. the sam ponder stuff didn’t help either, as insufferable as she may be. then the multiple appearances with tucker carlson. he’s covered his twitter outrage bingo card to the max so anytime there’s something new the tweeps are like ‘this motherfucker AGAIN?’ and i sorta get it to a degree. ftr i respect the hustle and consume some content JUST AN OBSERVATION DUDES
