The recession will be here just in time for a Democrat to take office in 2020 and then get the blame for it because people (republicans) are fucking stupid
Or if Trump wins it’ll be blamed on the Democrats for not doing what he says and supporting socialism.
One on hand, if we do enter a recession, then I hope it gets bad while Trump is president so that some voters are chipped away. On the other hand, I worry about Trump's transition of power (presuming a Democrat wins, of course) during a severe economic downturn, among many other turbulent factors. But, yes, if there is an economic downturn and if a Democrat does win, then the Democrat will suffer much blame... just like a decade ago. Same thing with FDR.
I really wish we could just fucking deport republicans. They’ve just ruined the country and literally do nothing good here. Deport em and replace em with Yemen and Syrian refugees. Get the unpatriotic dogshit outta here
He’s not ever leaving office without kicking and screaming and when they finally get him out he’s going on a press whirlwind tour about how everyone is begging him to stay/go back.
I dunno about "unpatriotic" man, I saw someone wearing this the other day: That's as patriotic as it comes IYAM.
He would be 82 years old so of course he would. He will be even more senile watching the world burn while he lines his pockets.
Which is funny bc nothing in this country over the last 4 years even resembles a glimmer of socialism lol
Provided a 2020 flip, I'm looking forward to the about-face from Fox News when Trump unleashes Trump TV... like he was planning to do a few years ago. If Trump loses 2020 and if there is an actual transition, there will be a further fractioning of the Right. The splinter will be the new version of the 1850's Know Nothing Party.
The good news? Trump goes down in July 2020. The bad news? Pence assumes control and later makes everyone worship the resurrected Trump.
Maybe she went on to get a masters in nursing and added some debt, while her coal miner husband got black lung and they piled up medical bills on top of student loan debt while her husband's company went out of business and the government sat idly by, and now he's dead and she had to declare bankruptcy, but she's still saddled with $25K in debt and can't get a job because her credit rating is shit and who is going to watch 4 year old Mack who looks like his daddy? Does that change the fact thay student loans aren't discharged in a bankruptcy? Mate.
Important to note that comparing yield curves is a very early warning system. I think it typically takes 1 to 2 years for a recession to follow a 2yr vs 10yr inversion.
The second Bush recession took about 22 months to occur, but the first one came about a year and a half after the inversion.
Yeah, i think the first inversion prior to the 2008 crisis occurred in 2005. Nonetheless, as long as the outlook during the summer of 2020 is negative, that should be enough to make a solid dent in Trump's numbers.
So it will set in right as Warren begins her presidency and the white “working class” can blame their support of racism on economic anxiety
I feel like people need to start losing their jobs for it to matter. I also feel like Donald Trump is going to lose, whether the economy is doing well or not, so...
These people hate avocados because they’re seen as a liberal food and love well done steaks with ketchup because their dear leader likes them like that. The economy doesn’t mean shit to them. They’d vote for him if he promised a deep, long recession that would cost them their jobs, homes, and all of their money just to own the libs.
Counterpoint: No one will care about the Dow Jones when Warren liquidates the Oligarchy and outlaws heterosexuality.
Great, now I'm going to be fighting at tailgates. NilesIrish I will pistol whip anybody at your or my tailgate that wears this.
I actually think it will come before the election, but we will rinse and repeat the cycle of remembering the trends that president's had responsibility for and the next President will still get the blame.
In March 1991, George H. Bush had an 89% approval rating. By August 1992, he was at 29%. The economy comes at you fast in an election year.
wish i had just popped into this thread before trying to earnestly ask the barstool ppl how the hell that's a good thing cause your summary here is perfect even as clearly a troll, how is inspiring a bunch of chuds to be more anti-union cool?
Religious infiltration into our public and government sphere is a very real thing already. Every time my agency's secretary holds a meeting, he has everyone stand for a christian prayer before the event. This has gone on for well over a year.
this shit bothers me. I've never followed the barstool account on any social. But I definitely consumed a fair amount of content over the past 3 years. At this point, I just listen to Pardon my Take, sometimes their baseball pod Starting 9 (because it is hard to find a baseball podcast with energetic/charismatic hosts), and sometimes Spittin Chicklets. I've cut the rest of it out at this point. It just doesn't sit right.
March 91 was also right on the heels of a very successful Desert Storm campaign, so that 89% is super-inflated. Your point still stands, though
i like PMT fine. pft's hilarious and big cat's aight. the thing is both of those two have pretty left politics. they're both professed listeners of chapo and pft was even on an ep. i think the barstool mentality that it's just one big troll has permeated their thinking on stuff like this tho.
I also prefer not to listen to stuff where people whine about PC culture. I assume PFT will leave within the net few years. Just a thought
I honestly thought he’d be dead by 2020. If he’s alive in 2024 I can’t see how anyone would believe in a just God.
