Got a big oak tree leaning over the house that I'll need to take out. It's in a tight space and splits the property line. Spoke to the neighbor and she probably would split the cost. If it was a bit lower I would do it piece by piece but the far end is over the far side of the roof so to high to reach. Any idea how much something like this costs?
Yea I’d bet it’s more than that, especially if you’re going to do stump grinding. If it’s a truly large oak you’re probably looking at 2k+ with stump grinding depending on the area.
I haven’t had to do that in years but had to recently to change a sink faucet. Tried to rush it and go quick and it ended up taking twice as long due to water in the lines. Man that work is tedious.
I bought a wireless security camera. The problem I was having was that it works best screwed in to a wall and I have vinyl siding. The vinyl siding is of course not a flat surface to drill the bracket into. Also, the vinyl gives in when pushed on. I bought this is on Amazon, hoping it solves my problem. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000BQUR2Y?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
So I have a new dishwasher, Frigidaire, and its not drying the dishes at all. Not sure what the fuck is wrong.
Based on this, it does. Not really sure what's up. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Frigidaire...n-24-Inch-Actual-24-in-ENERGY-STAR/1000223753
Heating element may not work. Also, do you have a button you have to select for heated dry? I know on our dishwasher we have to select it or they come out really wet.
Had it happen to my current GE dishwasher. There is a switch/circuit that flips to avoid burning up components when the dishwasher overheats. Dude that came out to fix it said a lot of brands have the same problem and that we need to warm the water up (at the sink) before running the dishwasher. The switch/circuit was in the back so he had to pull the dishwasher out, flipped the switch, and it worked again.
What a stupid design. Hey everyone buy our efficient water saving dishwasher, just run a bunch of water down the drain before you save water using our dishwasher.
Are you surprised that appliance companies are cutting corners and/or implementing poor design? I extend warranties as far as I can now just so I don’t have to deal with it. My $700 dishwasher is now an $800 dishwasher, but at least I don’t have to give a shit about it breaking for 5-6 years.
Not surprised at all, but I find some of them to be funny. Most of the energy star dishwashers aren't actually energy star if you want them to work properly. Oh, you want your plates to actually be clean? Well turn on the high heat wash and heated dry and use just as much energy as you did before. I'm a design engineer by trade, so watching companies do things like this just makes me roll my eyes.
So they were having the part to fix it shipped to my house. Stupid fuckers didn't even ship it till tonight, and shipped it normal. How the fuck are they supposed to fix an oven on Friday with a part that won't show up till Saturday afternoon. Fucking LG.
I’ll have to look into this. I don’t wanna pull the damn thing out and it not have a switch. I assume it’s as simple as just undoing the screws in the counter and pulling it out?
Typically two screws into the countertop Open the door and lean in to look up Might start with Google and see if your model has the switch
Moved into a brand new apartment and the dishwasher was terrible at drying. Had it on heat air dry and still was shit.
Yea, need to get a hold of the receipt. I’m not messing with a dishwasher, no experience. If it wasn’t covered under warranty I’d go for it.
The one I showed a picture of didnt work for me because I think I have Dutch lap siding and that one didnt fit correctly on the siding. I ended up going to Menards and buying a universal fitting one. It has cutout prints on the back to make it one of three shingle designs. Seems like it will do the job.
So appliance repair company is coming out tomorrow (under warranty) to take a look at the dishwasher. If he says this is just how shitty of a dishwasher it is, I'm going to go get a new and better one. Hopefully its just a fucked up unit.
"Oh sorry Mr. lfriend we had to look hard for part and it took us that long to find it" 6 days and apparently they've never fucking heard of overnight shipping. LG is paying for it all anyhow. "The earliest we can come is the 26th" Motherfucker.
Can one of our resident loan guys help me out Jorts or @anyoneelse or @anyone licensed in Louisiana. I have a home equity line of credit I used as a 2nd mortgage so I didn't put 20% down. With rates moving I think I want to look at refinancing that into a 10 or 15 year fixed.
Doesn't seem to hard, just doing a half wall but want to make the wall tile to shiplap transition look good
Yes, in our bathroom too. My wife actually did it herself, all you need is a table or circular saw and a brad nailer ( or someone to help hold the boards up if you're using a hammer). We did it on top of drywall so it will take more planning with tile. Is the tile already up?
It's drywall, I just want the edge of the tile and the edge of the shiplap to look good as they transition. Like the shower tile transitions to drywall now, but will them transion to shiplap
So I come downstairs yesterday afternoon and it’s 5 degrees warmer than the thermostat. I check the vents and the air is warm. Go outside and the compressor sounds like it’s running, but the fan blades aren’t turning. I submit a Home Warranty Claim and they send it to a local shop. I am pretty sure it’s the capacitor for the fan. The earliest they can get here is between 12-6 today. If it’s a part they have to order it’s going to be Monday at the earliest before they can get it up and running. It’s 78 degrees in my house right now and the high today is expected to hit 101. Fml.
Don't you live in Dallas area? Seems like they should be able to get whatever part today My FIL before retiring was the head engineer for Lennox (humble brag I get free ac repairs) and has fixed our units multiple times with a $8 capacitor that he got at a local electrical store in bum fuck east Texas
I just bought a house and for the past 3 weeks whenever I get home from work it's been ~78-80. By about 2am it's cooled down to 73ish. Still trying to narrow down the problem, so haven't filed a home warranty claim. You'll be fine.
Try turning it off, and back on. Serious. Sometimes the capacitor will kick it back on. It'll get you running, it will go out again, maybe the next time it kicks off but sometimes you can get a few hours of cool air out of it.
