Listening to this album for like the 20th time this year. This is just the instrumental intro, with no cookie monster vocals
I'll never understand why Porcupine Tree's earlier work seems to be so underappreciated by their fan base. I mean I enjoy In Absentia just fine, but it's insanely overrated in their discography imo (I'd entertain Fear of a Blank Planet as their best album if you're fixated on that era though). Anyway, this song came up on my shuffle and it's caused me to rant, forgiveness please.
Weimar introduced me to Wooden Shjips, which introduced me to Black Angels ^ little known fact you guys probably didn't know
my word, I fell for this band's new album pretty damn hard and decided to check out their initial stuff only to be greeted with this gem of an opening track...these nerds just speak to my soul
In a previous lifetime I had a favorite band by the name (number?) of 311, I am currently listening to them on a nice bit of nostalgia. More specifically, I am listening to their highly underrated Transistor album, which had the unfortunate circumstance of following their breakout self titled album that people still to this day pretend is really good because a single or two made it big. ***whoa Shiggityshwo that sounds like a hot take to me *** I know Shig, I know, Sweet was a pretty cool song though tbh Anyway, back to the topic at hand, Transistor... Use of Time, this was my favorite song for a couple of years, I still remember pausing my NCAA 2003 UNC dynasty game as I heard it play for the first time. Now, as I continue listening while meticulously crafting this post, I feel like I should talk about how the closer, entitled Stealing Happy Hours, always reminded me of Mario Kart's Rainbow Road. Also I'd like to point out how I would kill every single one of you in Mario Kart 64 I'm talking orange ZZZZ turbo on every turn I'm sorry for your loss guys. In conclusion, this album always reminds me of the time my friend and I decided to drive down to Georgia Southern at 9pm from Athens to surprise his ex-girlfriend, who shockingly didn't seem too excited to see us, I don't know what her deal was man. Women, amirite
I hate this girl, she's the worst (it's a lie I love her she's the best this guy in particular can't wait for the new album)
Cataloguing every 7” I have and listening to them on the way in. So far today Patsys Rats - Rounding Up Patsys Rats - is it alright Diarrhea planet - Yama uba Craig brown - shoulda been fishing Protomartyr - Dreads 84 85
need these nerds to come state side pronto also on a side note find yourself a girl who drums as the lead vocalist
there's an intense battle waging on between Brutus and Sacri Monti for my album of the year so far, been knee deep in both tonight I'll say this, between this song and "Staggered in Lies," Sacri Monti sure knows how to open an album
Shawn has me listening to that Sleater Kinney album now, also I've found we have a decent touch of overlap when it comes to our Venn Diagram of musical tastes and honestly he's not such a bad guy when posting acts I like
***That transition from 'Let's Call It Love' to 'Night Light'*** by far my favorite moment of the album
I'm sure this has been posted before, probably by me, maybe by somebody else, I doubt it though, who knows I just mean to say that this version of this song is about the optimal level of happy one can hope to achieve in life, just look at Juan's face at :38
