On campus yeah pretty much but you'll be competing in a lot of locations with ppl who get there early to claim their normal tailgate spot. Fran basically nailed the best spots.

Interesting article on 247 about the travel roster. Since the first game is on the road at Vandy, we can only travel with 70.

    https://247sports.com/college/georg...-Smart-travel-roster-decisions-134548968/Amp/

We’ve never really had an issue with this before since we usually had a ton of dead weight.

The author’s projection for players left off are:

D’Wan Mathis, Tommy Bush, Makiya Tongue, Ryland Goede, Clay Webb, Xavier Truss, Warren McClendon, Owen Condon, Netori Johnson, Michail Carter, Bill Norton, Zion Logue, Tymon Mitchell, Rian Davis, Trezman Marshall, Tramel Walthour, Latavious Brini, and Ameer Speed.

The young OL probably aren’t an issue (along with the true freshmen), but I wonder how many of the others will eventually be in the transfer portal. Wouldn’t be surprised if Brini and Speed weren’t on the roster next year. Haven’t heard much about them in practice reports. If Bush doesn’t see the field this year, I could see him leaving too.

And now that I think about it, it seems really weird that home teams are allowed more eligible players than visiting teams. Last year against Austin Peay, we dressed 125.

Yeah we've gotten next to nothing out of him. That whole DL class has been disappointing with Rochester, Clark and Young. Clark has been good at times.

Wouldn’t mind taking Logue on the road if there’s any chance he contributes this season. Get him ready for that environment. Maybe Bush too?

    The rest make sense.

Probably only around 40-50% of signees can develop into rotational players in any program, no matter what level you're recruiting at. If we sign 3 of the top 6 CBs in the country and lose no one to graduation and maybe one early to the draft, someone is getting left behind.

It's incredible that 6'3 with 10.4 speed barely puts you above baseline as a UGA CB. Ringo, Stokes, and Campbell all probably edge him out in speed and all are 6'1+ (and much better and more fluid football players). Stevenson, Kimber, and Daniel wouldn't be far behind.

What are the odds that the NCAA changes the 25 per class limitation by signing day? It seems like it certainly needs to be done with the amount of additional annual attrition resulting from the new transfer rules. If they don't change the rules, within a couple of years, it's going to be hard for UGA to field a team of more than 75 scholarship players imo.

Who steps up at WR? I read an article about WR depth and they didn't even mention Kearis Jackson among the 7 names mentioned in the article. I think he'll be the sleeper of this season.

I'm really not too worried about our pass catchers. I'm so pumped about the oline and Fromm that I think things will work out fine. Landers/Cager will create some mismatches on height alone and Robertson, Pickens, and Blalock are just natural talents. Blount and Simmons' work over the years will get them on the field too though I don't expect much from either but who knows. There's 8 guys right there plus Woerner.

Kearis had a great spring and summer, but I haven’t seen him mentioned much in fall camp. Robertson’s potential emergence would be HUGE considering the lack of experience at the position currently.

Ultimately, I think our WR corp will be pretty solid. The rest of our offense should give them the ability to gel for a bit before we really need them to step up.

Although he’s clearly a starter (and therefore not under the radar), I think Simmons is going to be consistently really good this year. He seems like the kinda player who will get the job done when we absolutely have to have it.

Kearis had an explosive play in scrimmage Saturday per Kirby iirc.

I expect Simmons to get the most snaps among the WRs. He's got big-play potential with his speed, he's a great blocker, good after the catch, and he's proven opportunistic. He said his focus has been on getting in and out of his breaks this offseason. I believe it'll show this fall considering his work ethic and consistent improvement over his career. The technical aspects of getting separation have definitely held him back more than anything else.

I think Pickens will make big plays all season long, but I think Kirby will limit his snaps to force him to buy into the less exciting aspects of being a complete WR.

DRob is a wild card and I think it's all about his confidence. He's got a great attitude, but that's not exactly the same as confidence.

Cager, Landers, Kearis, Blaylock, and Blount probably all get consistent snaps, rotate pretty evenly, and each go hot/cold throughout the season depending on circumstance/opportunity. I love Kearis, he's going to have a great college career. A lot of people forget about his 10.7 speed because of his reputation of being so physical.

We've got to move past telegraphing the run or pass with our WR personnel. I think this year's personnel closes that gap regardless of the coaches abandoning that mentality. There's not as wide of a range of effectiveness with this group like there was last year, with Godwin being such a great receiver/route runner and horrible blocker and Stanley being a dominant blocker and a zero in the passing game. Hopefully.

Ohio State and Georgia had a home and home scheduled, but we cancelled it when the Big Ten and Pac Tenn announced a scheduling alliance that was supposed to be like the Big Ten-ACC challenge.

Then the Pac 10 cancelled that.

Now we’re playing Cincinnati in 2019 instead of Georgia.

Organizing a party bus to Athens for ND/UGA from Atlanta...about half Domers and Dawgs, bus is going to drop us as close as they can to our tailgating spot. No one has tickets, planning on watching it on TV from the tailgate or at a bar

My questions is: thoughts / merits of either? I assume we’ll need to post up 3-4 hours early to get a big bar table for this caliber game, yes?
