I would suggest your shoulder. It's easy to cover up, especially if you don't like it or dont like how it comes out.
i’d always start with somewhere you can cover it up with a short sleeve shirt like the advice given just in case you regret it once you get more and more then get them wherever you want imo dallasdawg my guy is really good if you want his info just dm me
i have that geometric one on my arm and have another one on my chest probably my two favorite tattoos as far as looks go. maybe not sentimental value, but pure aesthetically
used to be but he moved to a shop off of munger dude did my entire arm and half of my other one so far. would recommend to anyone. he does traditional and geometric stuff
You can still cover it with a long sleeve shirt. Honestly it really depends on your job. If you either wear a suit/ long sleeves everyday or they don’t care go for it. Getting my forearm done was my first big move. Once I got my current job and they didn’t give a fuck it was all open. Neck hands knuckle I love them but I do get shit sometimes.
i get to make the rules at work so at least i don’t have to worry about that i know this will probably change once i get one, but i’m picturing a few small ones in selective places and not big “pieces” if that makes sense. forearm, rib cage, shoulder blade, stuff like that. smaller meaningful ones. maybe “refined” is the right term?
cool i’m going to work on some ideas (probably post a lot itt for advice) and then i’ll hit him up. that’s pretty convenient for me
If you like them they are hard to stop getting. Most of mine (if not all) are symbolic of something or someone. I don’t have a single tattoo that wasn’t gotten with something else in mind. Best thing I can tell you is go to a good artist. I’ve had to cover up shit work and that is the only thing I regret.
So got two large trees done yesterday, really happy with how they turned out. That took 2 hours, going to work on the sleeve/depth and cover-up during the next time. Problem is I was scheduled for my 2nd appointment in late September, but have a friend in town. Asked to re-schedule, but my artist says he has zero availability until January 2020. Is that normal? It's a guy that runs his own shop, and I want to keep the same artist, but fuck I don't want to wait 1/3 of a year between sessions. Frustrating, but I'm also at his mercy.
depends on the artist if it’s someone that’s really well known or does a very specific style, wait can be up to a year
I’m probably just being reactionary. And just want it done sooner rather than later. But he did a damn good job, I was going for realism and it looks awesome. Must be in high demand. But at the same time it’s a 2-3 hour session. Now I have to walk around with a goofy half-finished tattoo cover up for a few months. I’ll post some pics once it’s healed
Get it done in September and tell your friend to entertain themselves for a couple hours. You’re going to have the tattoo for the literal remainder of your life, give the artist a shorter time in between sessions so the piece cohesion can be easier.
mainly because i want to also because i’ve had 8 friends die and i’ve almost died several times myself, if you really want to know
That death in the rearview mirror tattoo you posted on the last page is one of my favorite tattoos I've ever seen
Are you and your friends old? Why is everyone you know dying? I love skulls, skulls are fucking metal.
Ah, I see. I don't know much about fentanyl, or depression really. I do know 8 friends dying would put me in the negative.
My only skull tattoo somehow. I got this done in 2014 — I still haven’t colored it in which I still want to do. Edit: wait no, I just got a little medieval skull behind my mear that I posted in here recently.
my arms are pretty morbid and it’s either a great conversation starter for people or a deterrent win/win
absolutely all of my tattoos can be covered for work related things but if i’m in public, i’ll never cover them up because fuck anyone who wouldn’t want to talk to me because of them also, it deters a lot of women that just aren’t into it, but the ones that are really into them. have a lot of randos walk up and touch my arms and say something along the lines of “i love your tattoos!” off putting the first few times but it grows on you
my guy is really low key and old doesn’t even have social media lmao just happened to stumble across someone who mentioned him to me and i gave him a chance. been going to him ever since
About to finish my neck tomorrow. Hopefully it will look like one continuous work instead of three semi related ones. Not going to the throat. Sides and back.
really wish i could get my neck and hands done especially my neck since i could transition the ones on my chest to my neck but as always people are fucking lame
Easy to say hard to do especially when work is concerned. It was a big step for me. Even in liberal as fuck west la I get all kinds of looks. If you can get away with it go for it when I die it won’t matter.
One thing about getting your neck done is you have to stay in shape. Having a fat neck with tattoos makes it look worse and fatter.
not worried about the looks in public i already get those lmao. strictly a work thing. especially in texas
Finished my neck got something added to one and finished the back. Trying to see how long it take my wife to notice. Probably not until Saturday. My kids think it’s hilarious that they noticed right away and she hasn’t. It’s a pain in the neck hiding it from her.
