I still consider West Nashville to be the cool part of town Percy Priest Eakin Head Julia Green Gower Crieve Hall RIP Stokes Lockeland on the East side JT Moore kids were wild as hell
Or it's their way of saying, "hey that transportation manager role you are interested in, yes we are going in another direction" lol
It's always been said that when amazon brings lots of jobs to a city it can increase salaries at other companies as they try and maintain talent. Especially in supply chain which is what I work in.
Interesting. I am pretty sure the family who bought my townhouse had their kid in Gower and he was well on his way to being fluent in Spanish by fourth grade. Seemed like a super diverse school
Anyone going to these shows? The Raconteurs have linked up with live music platform nugs.net to bring fans a special treat. The band will offer free live streams of their upcoming sold-out three-night run at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, this Labor Day weekend on August 29, 30 and 31.
Coming in 2 weeks and staying at a VRBO on 2nd Ave near Rockbottom. I hope we picked a good spot. Any go-to's nearby? Seems like everything is right there.

It only involves one maybe two bars downtown. I'm almost positive you need a wristband to go to any of those shows listed in that link. It's mostly all the smaller music venues in town. A wristband gets you in any show. Like Thursday night at Cannery you get The Record Company and Aaron Lee Tasjan. The music downtown on Broadway is mostly top 40 country covers from the last ten years or classic country karaoke songs like Family Tradition. You may walk in a bar and the guitar player will have his phone attached to his mic stand. It's like a live karaoke.
I’m gonna try not to get on my high horse about the music on Broadway, but that location is plenty close to anything you’d want in the city Walking distance to you there’s Bakersfield (ok but better tacos in town ie Red Headed Stranger and Mas Tacos), Liberty Common, and Martins are good food spots to check out. The Southern and Farm House are good if you’re looking to spend a little more
Also Baron , if you are looking at shows The High Watt, Cannery Ballroom, and Mercy Lounge are all together. Wednesday 1030 Brent Cobb and them (Cannery) 1100 Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors ( Mercy ) 1130 Billy Strings (Cannery) Thursday 800 Mike and the Moonpies ( The High Watt) 1030 The Record Company ( Cannery) 1130 Aaron Lee Tasjan ( Cannery) Just an example. All kinds of shows across town that week. Tash Sultana plays at the Ryman Sun the 15th.
I don't think we will venture much from downtown. Just looking for decent music, drinks and food. I also have no fucking clue who any of those people are, I am sure they are good though. marcus where did you venture when you went a couple months back?
Went to Husk for dinner one night and it was excellent (make sure you get reservations). As far as bars, we went pretty much anywhere we could get in. I loved the vibe and music in ACME, but I wouldn’t call it a country bar. Honestly, find a place on the strip early in the day and hold your spot, especially if you’re going on a Friday or Saturday.
Anyone see this dumbass shit? https://people.com/books/harry-pott...orcists-advice/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
Lot's of good info in OP, thanks. I've got lunch/dinner Friday and Saturday this weekend. What would be your 4 go to places? I'm staying by the Hall of Fame.
BBQ - Martin's or Peg Leg Hot Chicken - Pepperfire Breakfast: Monell's or some institution that will have a long wait but is probably worth it for delicious biscuits. wildcads: Fido, Mas Tacos, Dozen baker/Sweet 16th Bakery for breakfast sammies and pastries That's just my opinion, there are so many options
The Gambling Stick in East has now become my favorite Nashville BBQ - https://www.thegamblingstick.com/about Dinner - 5th and Taylor
Friday: Lunch - Arnold’s Dinner - Martins BBQ Saturday: Lunch - Red Headed Stranger Dinner - depends on how much you want to spend. 5th & Taylor, Folk, City House, Adele’s, STK, Kayne Prime, Standard House
Pretty sure it's lottery and no you aren't guaranteed anything IIRC even with great grades and test scores Hume Fogg and MLK are wonderful high schools
If they go to Fogg, don’t be the parent that drops of their kid at the corner of Rosa Parks and Broadway at 8 AM and holds up traffic in the intersection. Not a fan of those guys...
I'll be staying at an Airbnb in Franklin area this weekend. Any spots down that way that are cant't miss?
