Idk how I’d feel about trading Tunsil for that considering his deal If we got a first or second along with Clowney, maybe. But our OL would be in total shambles
Trade the only stable piece of your OLine who is on his rookie deal for a guy that is great when healthy, but has had numerous issues staying that way and is going to want a ton of money? Yep, that sounds like my Phins.
Well, you win by getting to the quarterback right? Who cares if you’ll have one of the worst offenses ever
If we can somehow pull this off without giving up a 2020 first rounder or Tunsil... a core of Clowney, X, Minkah, Tunsil, and of course Tua going forward would be
Why can’t he be resigned? Are we just figuring he wouldn’t want to play here? I thought we have a ton of cap space next year
Would Stills even make their 3 deep? I don't see him passing Fuller and maybe not Coutee either (bc he's a slot guy, I think). If we can make that happen it'd be a dream but it would be a weird move for them
There’s an argument to be made that in the near future there’s more top end QB prospects then there are elite LT prospects. If you trade tunsil, considered one of the best young LTs, what is your plan to replace him with equivalent talent? It’s not just that he’s very good and young, it’s that the prospect or FA that could replace him is scarce to nonexistent presently, so his value should be viewed higher in the trade market if he’s tradable to the organization at all
That’s what I’ve been seeing. Dolphins don’t want to move him, above response was some of the reasoning for why they want to keep tunsil
There's just no way Clowney has enough value to get Tunsil. Fins have no guarantee he stays. Even if they have a handshake deal, he can change his mind and leave after the season. So we would have traded Tunsil for a 3rd round pick. Fuck that.
I don’t think this matters. They’re going to use him like flowers in NE. Set the edge, play the run hard and have a handful of sacks through twists and stunts. He’s a great fit for what we’re trying to do defensively
Yeah he was like the 8th ranked edge player on PFF. Whether he’s an elite pass rusher or not, he’s a very valuable player. Could be a core piece moving forward
Feel like all of these fins reporters are getting their info from Texans sources. Houston doesn’t even have a GM and somehow they’re about to hoodwink us out of Tunsil... Nothings impossible but man, I just don’t see it. How much could Houston be willing to part with to get him if they’re in win now mode?
That would be so on brand. Trade a really good LT for someone that doesn’t want to be here and then have neither in a year
