I used to enjoy parent corner but now I’m pretty sure 9 years from now I’m going to read a Jim Miller tweet about Ben S going to rehab itt
oh ya, the fact that he got him that jersey with that name on it. And that the kid wanted a 69 on it Bill, you are supposed to limit your kid from embarrassing himself, not embrace his cringey rap name forever memorialized on some jersey he will wear dozens of tines.
It’s almost like he feels guilty for being gone so much when he was real little that he just jets him do anything. The parent corner of him taking a 10 year old Ben to a Migos concert last year unreal.
How am I ever supposed to trust Bill's talent evaluation of NBA prospects if he cant tell the soccer ref is 15 after watching him for however long middle school girls soccer matches last?
Bill grew up a rich only child, if he wasn't used to ever hearing no it's hard to think he's gonna know how to do the same to his son
Simmons was weird on the Lowe podcast. Really feisty. And the moment Lowe had to inform him that Jamal Murray wasn't on Team USA because he's actually Canadian was outstanding.
I enjoyed that Pod and Lowe very politely dunked on him several times. In what fn world are both Lopez brothers going to play in line ups together
Koppelman is insufferable sometimes. It was 45 minutes of name dropping, and his “creative process.” He really thinks Billions is like prestige TV with Wire and Mad Men
Simmons is completely right that young players like Booker who wouldn't be making the playoffs or like Shamet who are role players should be wanting to play on the national teams. the "woe is me" act about how you can't call them out is dumb, but Booker seems like an idiot. also, Booker missed time last year because he fell ridng his bike so he can drop the act about how playing those games increases his injury risk.
Tate leaving sucks. I'm legitimately bummed about it, wouldn't have expected that. He didn't have particularly great insight, and he talked about Carolina way too much, but he and Titus had a good thing going that will be hard to replicate.
"Tic Tac and Melatonin" is quite possibly the GOAT rich white teenager garage band rap duo name. That shit is hilarious. Kids are suppose to embarrass themselves. Your job as a parent is to try and stop them from jumping the family station wagon off a dirtbike ramp, not monitoring whether or not they look "cool."
I wore an OPP hat in 5th grade. Had no idea what it meant and my dad thought I looked ridiculous but I wanted to wear hat. I look back thinking wtf but I was just a kid.
Wearing an OPP hat is not like having your parents order you a 69 Melatonin Pats jersey and giving you free access to postmates and amazon
Sounds like you have strong opinions on the subject. What are some other good ways to ruin a child's imagination and creativity?
Holy shit he let the kid order food, should I call protective services or do you already have them on the line?
looking forward to the parent corner where his kid trades in amazon gift cards for a blacked.com subscription
Bill thinking Mayock posted the letter on Instagram and then House not correcting him at all was peak 2019 Simmons Podcast also his "you can't criticize the players" schtick needs to GTFO
He’s trying to copy Rusillos “athletes acting like their job sucks is tiresome” angle but he doesn’t do it as well
He's just mad that nowadays athletes have an outlet to clap back at hot take artist hacks like Simmons, he can't just post shit bashing the players with 0 repercussions like he did in his early Boston Sports Guy/ESPN days
In the Lowe pod Simmons says both: he doesn’t think about player positions that much, because you should basically just put good players on a team and they can figure it out. And....the Lakers might suck because they have too many guys who have played the same position.
I wonder how long this Chris Long on Monday’s thing lasts on Russillo’s pod? I’m not sure why they acted like this was some coup getting him on the show. Was there someone else trying to hire him? Chris Long doesn’t move the needle at all and, 25 minutes in, he’s not that great at breaking down games.
i didn't make it through the entire pod because it was 90 minutes and MNF started early but he already alluded to kaepernick during his worst flight story. not necessarily a pro-kaep story but we're one pod in and everything seems fine. i thought the part i listened to was good. a low bar, obviously, but about x10000 more enjoyable than bill simmons analyzing football. simmons breaking down sports right now is worse than ever -- and i'm not itt as a hater of him like many others are.
I thought Chris was nervous and relied too hard on his notes. First 20 minutes were rough but he got better. I think Ryen can get more out of him.
Yeah i has just listened to that first 25 minutes or so when i posted. He did seem to get better. It did sound like he was reading off some notes to start out then winged it more. Hope he does well. Apparently I’m one of the few itt that likes Russillo.
I mean, I get it? Everything points to AB ruining chemistry and being a headcase....but then he's a top 3 WR in the NFL. If you can't understand why you (a fan) would go back and forth about it, I don't know what to tell you.
