I read today on Reddit. Destiny does endgame a bit different but no you didn't have to play through the story multiple times to get to endgame stuff.
That's always been my issue with Borderlands having to do the story and sidequests for any character I play multiple times. Looking forward to the show today @ 2pm EDT.
I hope they make some wholesale changes to the endgame myself. I've always enjoyed Borderlands but agree with you on having to play the story multiple times. I'm fine if it's optional but it's basically required to hit the necessary levels.
Watching the inside Xbox presentation from gamescom, they said they'll be talking to the B3 guy next, not sure if new info or old but here ya go if interested. edit: Nothing really new, have to wait for the show in 2.5 hours for that endgame info.
diablo 3 fixed that with adventure mode though. outside of seasonal characters, there was really no point to play diablo 3 story again once AM dropped. it's an antiquated design and i sincerely hope they change it for BL3.
If they had choices during the play-through that have major impact to the story, then I wouldn’t mind multi playthroughs. That way you can have a different experience. But I can agree on the repetitive story to max level.
My main concern is still gameplay. From the sound of things it plays a lot better than it's predecessors so it shouldn't be an issue but I'm still a tad worried. After that I'm fairly sure the gameplay loop will keep me grinding for a while.
yeah, and i'm sure there will be. i'd be surprised if they kept that experience the same after all that has come since it last was released. that said, if it is the same i think it'll be tougher for me as an older gentleman with more responsibilities to keep my interest in playing that story a million times over again on 4-6 more characters. this i agree with as well. but even then i'm not sure i'd want it to be a requirement just to reach the endgame. shouldn't be forced to check out an alternate ending just to reach max level.
I mean, regardless of the end game content, multiple play throughs are a given. I always enjoyed them because they added new enemies and caused you to refine your tactics. New game plus is borderlands. You either like it or not. I hope they add adventures and bigger better raids and bosses as well but I’m fully aware that multiple play throughs are gonna be a thing
They apparently will have both ways of progression but we'll find out more tonight. Those who like new game+ and multiple playthroughs and then it's also possible to do story once and continue leveling without it. Really looking forward to the full details on Mayhem mode and Guardian ranks.
Spoiler about gear this game from a new Bahroo end game video: Spoiler Apparently there's class mods that can add to capstones or even the 1/1 skills in the trees... there's going to be some nutty builds. I'm honestly back to undecided on first character haha
Alright, back on FL4K. I was a Mordecai player and now doing a Zer0 playthrough, and I feel I'll just enjoy that playstyle more. Permanent pet with cloaking and great sniper tools.
He can be melee I believe, but I'm going down his sniping tree. Seems to be a popular build on the youtubes.
I tried melee early on but it just doesn't seem viable. So I changed to sniper. That's definitely where zero is best.
Axton is pretty cool, enjoying this zer0 run though. I really just need BL3, I can't get too much into 2 knowing 3 is coming haha New interview with a producer, he says rest of the endgame news will be coming at PAX West which is next week. Either the way, the more I see of Proving Grounds, it actually does look pretty fun. I'm gonna play the shit out of this game.
Idk about you nerds, but I got approved to have the 13th off. Probably the first time I've taken off for a game launch in years. Ready to grind all god damn weekend.
https://borderlands.com/en-US/news/2019-09-03-borderlands-3-release-schedule/ Preload info and when you can play based on timezone. Looks like PC gets the game 5 hours earlier than console.
Pre-ordered a physical copy through amazon. They're still running the $10 credit. No guarantee of a release day delivery yet
Nice, looking forward to reading those even though it won't affect me. Also, they announced last night at the launch party that there will be a new enemy above bad asses called anointed. Think the enemies in diablo that have random abilities and combos. And sometimes you get some yellow with the most broken combo you can't kill lol.
Anyone on PC want to add me for social benefits? I'll be down for like running proving grounds and other end game stuff as well, but tend to solo the story. I discovered today there's a couple benefits you get from having friends playing the game. 1. If a friend finds a rare boss while playing, the bounty for that boss will appear for friends as a quest to get a guaranteed spawn. 2. When friends vendor weapons, shields, etc. There's a chance it appears for you in your vendor machine. Seems like a good idea to have friends in this case for the added benefits. Epic name is currently Poetic-Gaming, trying to figure out something else. But in the meantime, if interested add me up.
