I noticed that after about the 3rd watch. Not sure where the parents are and they could easily dart into traffic.
Kobe Bryant coaching his daughter's team to beat down another girls basketball team by 88 points is the most Kobe Bryant thing ever
Did he put on a wig and suit up for them or something? How does a HS girls basketball game end with 142 total points in general let alone 115 by one team
I'm failing to see the fault here. Isn't it the goal of every team to blow out the opposition? That league may want some kind of mercy rule, but that's not kobe's problem.
At some point it became about embarrassing the other team. We're talking about 12 yr old girls here. Win by 30, cool. Win by 88? You're just being a dick.
That's on the league. You're telling me that if you were a 12 year old and dominating, you'd start missing shots/striking out/etc. just to make the other team feel better? If so, you and I had very different athletic experiences
As a 12 yr old? No. As a 40 yr old, I'd instruct my team to stop full court pressing and to run the clock out. Kobe's not 12.
As a kid, we dominated in football. We went 2.5 years without being scored on. We could have won by 80 routinely if we wanted to. We didn't bc our coaches pulled the starters at 28-0 in every game and then ran the ball and clock the rest of the game.
We would pull our starters, too (or vice versa if we were getting crushed). Those backups who didn't get to play as much would try their hardest. That's how it should be. And those ass kickings are good learning opportunities.
Not in 6th grade man, at that point you’re trying to get kids to learn the game, love the game, and develop skills. Beating them to a pulp to “learn something” comes at a later age.
Nobody said they shouldn't try hard. Nobody is blaming the kids. I guarantee you they were pressing and fast breaking the entire time though. You can't score 145 points in a girls middle school game without doing that. Two years ago the score was 22-21. And nobody learns shit from an 88 point loss other than to hate the game. Sure, the league should have some kind of mercy rule. But the adult coaches should have some maturity about it too. I would have pulled my team off the court and told Kobe to go fuck himself.
- hey sweetie, how did your game go? - we lost by 88. - what did you learn? - I learned that Kobe Bryant is that hardo dad.
Yeah high school baseball/softball has 15 runs after 5 innings rule, HS football has 2nd half running clock when up by 30. Kobe found a league where there weren’t any mercy rules (because at that age you don’t need them) and took advantage of it.
I'll concede that it sounds like I'm the outlier here. Maybe I was involved with shitty sports leagues. I will say that even before 12, I remember being humbled by ass kickings and practicing harder to avoid them.
We lost 97-22 in a traveling team game when I was 12. None of us were tall. I don’t know what tall was at that age. The other team had guys who were all over 6 feet tall I’m sure. They seemed like giants to us and they were supposedly the same age. We didn’t learn anything except we needed to go home bc there were some things we just didn’t have. Absolutely no good came of that.
I know what everyone wants to know. Spoiler “Love You Like A Love Song” - Selena Gomez is what she’s lip singing
Even more so and I mean like how is it physically possible, aren’t those games like 30 min long at that age? How can they actually even have the ball enough to score that much. That’s at least 57 possessions if they hit every shot
