Well he can certainly play someone that's unhinged. I don't know if he has the range but it's not a crazy idea on paper.
She didnt know about having to die. She only knew Gamora went with Thanos to the planet and died there. For all she knew Thanos killed her after a fight over the stone
The way she talks about Vormir when they ask her what it is makes me think otherwise. She’s also the one that realizes what happened when they’re fighting on Titan.
watched Matrix for the first time today is there any difference between Thanos and the Agents of the Matrix humans are just viruses sucking the resources dry and not doing anything to replace them
Scott’s panic at not knowing if Cassie is still alive, to relief that she is, to sadness as he’s realized he’s missed 5 years of her life, and then joy as he says “you’re so big” is a real testament to what a great actor Paul Rudd is.
Finally watched Dark Phoenix Chastain’s entire part was unnecessary. Movie had potential without the alien shit
Bought Endgame on 4K over the weekend Watched Ragnarok Saturday, Infinity War Sunday and Endgame now. I don’t think it matters how many times I watch it, I will get excited all throughout this movie. Cap and the hammer, on your left. But I also am never prepared for “I am Iron Man” and “We won Mr Stark”
Missed Hulk, Winter Soldier (said wtf is this?, didn’t recognize it at all), guessed IW for AoU cause they all use the same theme, got IM 2/3 confused, drew a blank on both Ant-Man.
As a follow up: if you haven’t seen the Coen Bros adaptation of True Grit, then you need to rectify that ASAP
X:Men: Dark Phoenix isn't good. But it is isn't bad. I like it a hell of a lot better than Apocalypse. Now that this franchise is over, the actors cast for Jean, Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrwaler, and Jubiliee just didn't work for those roles for me.
If there's one thing about the X-Men being under Feige that I'm really excited about, it's seeing Cyclops done right. No one at Fox knew what to do with him. Which is odd because the Fox animated show was perfect.
I was just about to add something about Cyclops. How can they get that character so wrong over all of these movies?
Because the only thing the execs knew about Cyclops when starting the franchise was "guy who shoots lasers from his eyes"
He definitely was in the animated series, but they’ve really shown a more complex character in the comics. If done right, Cyclops is a great character who has the potential for an arc from “goody two shoes” to almost an outright villain.
Of course. It’s all about the Jean with those two. I meant some of his actions in the comics the past years could definitely be viewed as villainous. Or anti-hero, at the very least.
So with you on this. I absolutely hated how Cyclops was written for the story in just about all of the X-Men films. He was almost insignificant. I read the comics growing up, watched the television series, and I thought the character was on the right track after the first X-Men in 2000, but it was dwindled and dwindled. Then Marsden was filming Superman Returns with Signer so Ratner had him die in the first 15 minutes of The Last Stand? Whatever, that film was, and is shitty. Dark Phoenix actually had some cool moments for Cyclops, and I didn’t mind Tye Sheridan as the actor.
On the subject of X-Men being introduced into the MCU, I was down a dark tunnel on Reddit the other night trying to sleep, and someone posted a very intriguing idea of how to incorporate the characters into phase five. (Keep in mind I’m paraphrasing what I remember, so it might be a little jagged): Whatever film it is, the main character(s) [someone we already know from the MCU] are fighting against the villain’s henchman, and at the last minute saved by [insert an X-Man here] with supernatural powers, but he/she abruptly leaves. After some digging through Shield files, they uncover something called X, and Fury explains how shield has been using the “X-Men” for special covert-opts missions since the ‘60s which was top secret and kept from just about everyone. A couple (or several) years ago the X-Men were defeated by [insert villain] and failed an important mission ... somehow shield covered it up, and those members of the X-Men have been separated throughout the world, hiding in plain daylight. Then the story goes from there. What intrigued me was how they failed a mission and have been in hiding throughout several parts of the world. Not sure about the other stuff.
