I know I’m still way behind, but I keep reading this take on the doctor story. I read it as the doctor paying 14,000 because it was 14 hrs between him telling them to say their goodbyes and when they were told there was hope (she started improving). It wasn’t an admission of guilt, but an amends for giving her no shot when she had some fight left in her. Anyhow, back to my read.
