Rain Thai Bistro and Sweet Basil for Thai. I’m a big fan of The Curry Pot for Indian food.

If you change your mind and want a burger and beer go to Tremont Tavern.

Oh and Tacquiera Jalisco has the best tacos I’ve had.

I personally am a fan of the beef tongue tacos at Taco Nooga. Also love the food at Brewhaus across the street if you decide you're in the mood for some hearty "German" food.

I can't really speak to the Indian or Thai food in town except that the Indian buffet downtown (right across the aquarium) is pretty damn good.

It was definitely in the 70s. My mom and her sister were courted while students at UC then (UTC now) on a few occasions. It was pretty wild. They were run out of town shortly after a girl died and then came back around 2005ish while I was in school. I used to study there because it was open 24 hours. They have really good food, especially PB&J, waffles, smoothies, and home brewed root beer. They’re still weird though. They don’t actively recruit to my knowledge like asking their patrons, but there is evidence that when you join you basically forfeit all your financials, live at their compound (no idea where), and work at the restaurant. A girl I dated asked another girl there who had recently joined and she shared some things she probably shouldn’t have.

I haven’t been there in probably 10 years but friends that do go say it’s still good. I don’t have any reason to be up at 4am downtown studying for differential equations finals with no intent to go home.

I’m not a fan or Indian or Thai, but here are some downtown area recs:
    State of Confusion- brunch
    Lupi’s, Pizza Bros- Pizza
    Il Primo- Italian
River Street Deli- great sandwiches, love the Elena Ruz and Muffuletta
    Tremont Tavern- burgers
    Parkway Pourhouse- Cajun (po’ boys)

River Street Deli is one of my favorites. OPA is awesome Greek if you can catch them open.

Il Primo is awesome atmosphere and great food. If you want something more private and quieter, Alleia is the better option. It’s the best Italian in town in my opinion. Boccaccio in St. Elmo and Il Primo are tied for second for me.

I’d like to add Parkway Pourhouse to the list of restaurants to try. It’s affiliated with Tremont Tavern (same owner). I’ve had red fish tacos, shrimp/oyster po boy, and the crawfish etouffee.

It’s delicious and has a Cajun heavy menu. It’s on riverfront parkway across the street from Chattanooga Whiskey which is featured in some of their signature drinks.

This shit is blowing my mind. I grew up in the SDA church and a lot of my childhood friends went to southern Adventist university in Chattanooga. Most of them are weird as fuck these days. I'd bet you some serious money that a number of the members of this cult came from SAU. No fucking doubt.

What did the chick at the yellow deli say to your gf?

undrtow have you played at Canyon Ridge since it’s reopened? I guess now it’s called The McLemore or something.

My dad was a member for about 3-4 years back when they were throwing out deals left and right to try and get people to play. He got to know Doug pretty well. Do you know if he’s still the club pro? I wonder how hard it is to get on. The website makes it seem totally private and super exclusive now. I would just like to play it once. I probably played it 50-60 times summers of 08 and 09. I love the layout even with the janky holes but it looks like based on their website they’ve fixed a lot of it and redid portions of every hole—some more than others.

No idea if he's still the pro. I only played the old layout once but enjoyed it. A buddy played a practice round up there a couple of weeks ago and said it is phenomenal. Number 18 is apparently one of the most picturesque holes in the southeast. I'm pretty sure they have gone the private route and heard they're trying to make it an Honors on the mountain. Rumor is the initiation is 50k

Their prices are actually on their website and a full membership is right in that 50k range once the clubhouse is built. I’d imagine once the hotel is built up there, there’s a good chance you can kop a weekend deal.

They have a lesser membership fee for like a partial that’s semi reasonable however it’s such a hike up there it’d be hard to make it worth it unless you’re retired.

I love their greens. #18 has always been pretty. I think #2 is extremely much picturesque too. You could buy a 2300sq ft 3br2ba up there for like 200k around 2008 when the market crashed. They’ll almost triple soon.

That's my thinking for anyone joining. It is so far out of the way that it would be tough to justify. The one member I know said he may make the trip 4-5 times a year

That’s a lot of disposable cash to only make it 4-5 times as a member. It’s actually not a terrible drive and is pretty scenic. I used to live in St. Elmo so it was only like 30 minutes from there depending on traffic on 193 going out of Chatt.

I appraised quite a few homes/townhomes in Canyon Ridge in 07/early 08. Every single one was bought by someone in AZ, NV or CA. $50k initiation fee is ludicrous imo. Eventhoigh I haven't played up there in forever.

The new course is incredible. They’re gonna dump a bunch of money in it. I think once they get their hotel, it’ll become a big weekend golf trip place.

Anybody else getting low on water pressure??

Tennessee America is gonna look bad if they can't get this fixed by the end of today. I wonder where the break is exactly because all you to do is find two opposite valves and then make the repair. If it's under the river then oh my

Water is fine on Signal at least for now, but they did say they're using reserve tanks. Hope this shit is fixed soon. Daycare and work closed which you think would be awesome but is actually a huge inconvenience.

yeah, the higher elevations are relying on your current tank supply. Us lower elevations are relying on the water amount currently in the network. No new supply will be added until this is fixed.

I read it is just downstream of the plant along the Amincola/Tennessee River so no one is getting any new supply until this is fixed
