I think Rises used Pittsburgh for more of it, but lived in Chicago for TDK and it was awesome. I watched them blow up the judge's car on my street in one take, and the truck flip scene took place outside my office. Wayne driving his Lamborghini under the EL to intercept the truck was down the street my now-wife lived on and he passed her building. One morning I randomly wandered by Gotham PD s.w.a.t truck parked by the river. It was very cool.
Good point. Think they used Pittsburgh (Heinz Field obviously) for more close shots and NYC for wide shots because they wanted the breadth of Gotham to feel endless. Either way, Nolan’s knowledge of Chicago made the first two more intimate imo.
They should’ve modeled Batfleck more after mid-life crisis Ben Affleck imo. Alfred admonishing Bruce for buying a speedboat to pick up divorcees.
I had pics of the SWAT truck and the judge's car exploding that I took on a BlackBerry on a photobucket or imageshack account I can't access. Kinda sucks, but they were shitty quality.

If you are into Batman at all, and you haven’t read The Long Halloween, then stop asking for cliffs and read it. It’s one of the best Batman stories ever. It’s also very adaptable to a movie. I am very excited if this report is true.
Cliffs: There is a serial killer in Gotham. Batman uses his detective skills to find him and bring him to justice.
