Carbs are the devil. Had to grab something quick before grabbing an overnight flight, and I feel like shit 5 min later.
They are. And those Quest chips are really damn good. Tried the nacho, sour cream, and BBQ and all 3 were good. The pastries I had today were awsome, as were the fries. But man, I feel awful and am craving more sugar.
i get these from sams i know they’re more dirty but it’s a good alternative when i feel like having nachos or something to munch on
I’ve eclipsed 50 lbs lost since Christmas. Only 10 more lbs to reach my first goal. Hoping to see it before my trip at month’s end, but Thanksgiving is more likely.
I haven’t been focused lately and have plateaued. I guess that’s better than gaining back, but I would really like to reach my goal for the year. The upcoming holidays make that tough.
wife: are we doing low carb sides for thank..? me: salute anybody that was able to stay on yesterday my head is pounding and i feel like shit but
I gained 10 over 4 days of “regular” eating. 1.5 days later on a keto diet I was already back down 5. Lots of water weight. And I too felt like shit while eating “normally.” If nothing else, this has helped clarify what I can and should eat for optimal health.
Back at it. Completely reset the kitchen with keto-friendly items. What is new in keto in the last 5 months?
Ended up losing about 42 lbs in calendar year 2019 off and on with Keto. Didn’t watch what I ate at all from about Thanksgiving on and put on about 15 lbs again. Excited to get back to it and detox a bit. I noticed improvements with digestion, less bloating, and just felt better. I am going to try a few months on, few months off, with the goal being to maintain during the months off. It certainly seems to work much better than most everything else I have tried.
If anyone in here is interested in putting some money on the line to try and stay on track better: https://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/tmb-biggest-loser-2020.179283/
I’ve been limiting carbs and sugars for the better part of 6 weeks. Not fully following keto principles regarding macros, just trying to stay under 30ish carbs. Is it normal in your cheat day experiences to feel hungry after a high carb meal? For example I had a personal blaze-style pizza for lunch to be agreeable and that would normally fill me up, but I’m really hungry an hour later. I’ve noticed the same thing with other lapse days.
Second question, which people may not want to talk in the open about: Has anyone had experience with or found success in controlling blood sugar levels with this? My primary dieting goal is to get out ahead of the potential risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
I th8nk that’s true for carbs in general vs fat. Fat keeps you filled longer. So if your body is fat adapted, not surprised you tell a difference now.
Insulin spikes are directly related to increased hunger. Pretty much everyone finds at least some measure of success with keto and type 2.
Wife decided to make keto pizzas last night and said "let's try this keto thing yor a while " So I guess I'm in
If you’re going to do it you need to be all in on it. You can certainly cut some carbs and eat Keto friendly stuff without being fat adapted. Eating the amount of fat needed for Keto without fully restricting the carbs could be disaster though. I used to eat enough cheese to kill a man not in ketosis.
I really need to get back on this, had a very successful 2012 into 2013, when I deemed I was losing weight too fast and didn't want to buy more clothes i slowed down into a maintain state. Since then I maintained for about a year, then started falling apart when I became a heavy drinker. Probably what holds me back the most from getting back into Keto, but I feel it's hard diet to maintain long term life style wise cause carbs taste so good. I was also single at the time, and now have to worry about a spouse food wise. I'm in the planning phase but plan to get started here really soon, Sunday or Monday at the latest.
Any light beer is going to have 5-6. I’d say you’re safe with a couple, if you don’t take those carbs elsewhere. devine can confirm, but Mickey Ults are 2.6.
Depends if you just want to satisfy a craving or get drunk. Any beer will need to be moderated pretty heavily and counts towards your daily limit of carbs. They're not the easiest things to fit in if you want to eat anything other than meat and cheese. Learn to love the distilled spirits imo. Or the seltzers.
White Claw is like 3g a can if you like Seltzer. If not you're better off sticking to like vodka + sprite zero or something like that.
I can’t stand liquor. I would drink a few vodka sodas then be really drunk and go to bed and wake up with a horrible hangover. My first time through ketosis I was hardly drinking
Gonna wanna have some liquor on standby if you wanna tie one down. I went with Devine ultras to satisfy the beer craving and vodka to satisfy the buzz.
I remember taking real chicharones on a date to the movies, no chips, straight greasy pork. So good. Keto rules if you can bypass certain pitfalls.
I just recently started experimenting making my own chicharones at home, this will push me to continue
Miller Lite is less than 3 carbs per 12 Oz, or right around there. I just saw an ad for Corona Premier that was 2.6 carbs per 12 Oz. Obviously a problem when you have several, but can have 2-4 without much issue. I just go Miller Lite when grabbing a beer out to eat or with buddies.
