Introduced my son (5 years old) to Zelda: A Link to the Past. I was worried that he’d hate it, since the only video games he knows are Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8, and BotW. It turns out that he loves it and can’t wait to get home from Kindergarten tomorrow to play it some more. I am proud.
Some great titles added SNES games available: Brawl Brothers Breath of Fire Demon’s Crest F-Zero Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics Kirby’s Dream Course Kirby’s Dream Land 3 Pilotwings Star Fox Stunt Race FX Super E.D.F. Earth Defense Force Super Ghouls’n Ghosts Super Mario Kart Super Mario World Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island Super Metroid Super Puyo Puyo 2 Super Soccer Super Tennis The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
I have played Super Metroid maybe 500 times, no exaggeration, going back to Christmas of 94. Looks like #501 is coming up
If it weren’t for Nintendo I’m convinced the entire industry would be like EA. They bat about .200 but when they find a hit, they revolutionize thinking in the video game market.
Everyone’s getting Link’s Awakening right? Legendary game...haven’t played it since it came out...was the first Zelda game I really played and advanced through
Not at the price of a AAA title, no. I beat it as a lad and the nostalgia factor is there but there are no interesting new features to warrant that sticker price.
Going to wait to see if they have a black friday sale on Links Awakening. I really want to play it (never played the original), but $60 hurts.
More important to me than the scores is how long game takes to complete. It can be a great game but if I can burn through it in a weekend, it's not worth $60
Seeing Switch Lite reviews are really good and honestly if all you want is a good new portable system it's the best deal in gaming given the lineup of great Switch games you'd get to play.
My rule of thumb is for every dollar I spend I need at least 1 hour of gameplay including multiplayer.
You dudes have until September 24th (this upcoming Tuesday) to take advantage of the Twitch Prime deal to get 1 year of Nintendo Online for free. If you signed up for a year the day the service became available last year, it won’t allow it until you leave a family group or call Nintendo to have your subscription terminated since your membership is likely good for another 2 1/2 weeks.
walk me through this por favor. so i signed up last year, and got an email saying im up for my auto renewal for 19.99. i signed up for the twitch prime year a while back. do i need to cancel my subscription and/or turn off auto renewal for it to apply, or what's the story with this?
Turn off auto-renewal first. Then go here: https://twitch.amazon.com/prime/loot/nintendo?ref_=SM_OM_NSO_TPBN_US?tag=toysj-20 Click the 3 month option if it isn’t already checked. There’s also a disclaimer above it to click to see if it’s enabled. That’ll take you to the Nintendo site for you to login and if you don’t get an error code, you’re good to go. If you do get an error code, you just need to call Nintendo and they can terminate your current sub so you can enable that. You do have to go back to that offer site in 60-90 days to claim the other 9 months of the subscription.
mine says claimed for the full year, i get the error, but on my switch it says expiration date 10/13/2020 so i think i'm solid.
My 7yo just beat Breath of the Wild and he’s just beaming with pride. I couldn’t believe he actually did it
i wish i had the attention span of a 7 year old to where i could sit down and finish games like that. still only played like an hour total in multiple playthroughs of breath and always end up doing something else and forgetting to go back to it. damn adult ADHD.
All you have to do is watch a zillion YouTube videos on how to get all the best gear. There is a clear tipping point in the game where everything goes from insanely difficult to pretty easy.
I’m the opposite, I get stuck on all the minutia and never finish because I’m trying to do everything little thing first. My last play through got bogged down getting all the korok seeds even though it’s pretty much pointless after a certain amount. Anymore I’ll get on and play BotW for awhile and just ride around and look at things. That game is just beautiful
I just got a $10 Best Buy reward so I’ll be picking it up this week. Can’t wait as it looks delightful.
excellent game. Glad it’s on switch too many games to play right now. Good problem to have after Wii U ownership though
After the first 30 minutes I still think it's good fun. It's different but I also see the sweet spot being like 8-10 year olds. Worth the $15. Not worth more than $20.
