Adrian Hoever - Lovren - Gomez - Lewis/Larouci Ox - Lallana holding (lol) - Milner Shaq - Brewster Captain's choice for the 11th. Probably Jones and push Ox up. Bring Keita on at 60 if he is ready.
Feel bad for him but maybe he shouldn't have come out so hard about 3 weeks ago about how his knee was fine.
I was harsh on Matip at the start of the season, but he has grown on me more with each game. He's not perfect, but he's played his role about as well as I could ask.
I don’t think I was ever on that train but man, you just can’t let it go that people liked Tuchel. I don’t even remember TSB in general thinking Tuchel was better
On the kits. Just because they match, even bid higher, LFC can choose whomever they want. This is just stupid and petty of NB. Should have ponied up to start. Nike obviously sees the value NB didn't, originally. And I am saying that as a fan of the NB kits.
We needed someone to do that so bad. Everyone that got the ball was just kicking it back to Chelsea. We desperately needed someone to get a hold of the ball and get us forward or get fouled. He did both.
Can you imagine? Eighteen years as a manager, millions of hours watching this game, and I missed the cheekiest thing that has ever happened on a football pitch. Since that night, I have probably watched the video of Divock’s goal 500,000 times I get such a kick thinking about how he's just like us sitting at home on his computer watching highlights over and over again.
I don’t think this is true. If NB matches the monetary amount in the Nike offer, it triggers an extension of the existing NB deal at the new price point.
Its a basic "match an offer" clause. Its only forever if we continue to include the same clause over and over.
But what kind of time line is included on that? The entire length of the previous contract? That seems ridiculous.
I imagine it could depend on the length of the competing offer or it might be written into the original contract.
That’s what the article discusses, that LFC feels that it’s impossible for NB to match Nike as it’s more than just the money but also the distribution ability.
The term of the extension is likely written into the original contract (I think it’s 3 years). It’s also unlikely that the extension contains another right of first refusal clause.
Somewhat excited for the kids to get some minutes today. What do we think the starting XI will look like? Jones - Brewster - Elliot Lallana - ox - Keita Hoever - lovren - Gomez - van den Berg Keller
I think we see Lewis over Van den Berg, but otherwise I agree. IMO, Shaq’s Injury makes it less likely we see one of the front three in this game - it’s just too much of a risk.
It’s not even clear what the formation will be, although I’d be surprised it if were anything but a 4-3-3.
