get in saturday and looks like weathers going to be mostly ok monday/tuesday.

got architecture tour, river walk, and a lunch reservation at cindys planned for one of them. it doesn't appear you can sit outside outside there but maybe have drinks outside?

Cindys has an outdoor area that they seat tables during lunch. I believe it becomes more of a first come first serve hangout space later on when it gets packed.

Taking my two grandpas (one is 90 years old) to the Cubs game on Friday afternoon. Of all fucking days to have an Excessive Heat Warning. We're at least not sitting in the sun.

Was always curious how dumb we were....... so at age 19 I walked from Mag Mile to the Bulls arena, too risky?

Then years later, my Dad and I wanted to check out Obama's house. We took the L red line to what I think was close to East 51st street because we assumed we would then walk. It was sketchy as hell so we got back on and it went to the end of that line. We had to wait down there for a while. I believe that was 95th street.

Need help deciding where to stay, we're headed for a long weekend - going to catch a Blackhawks game on a Friday night, hopefully, see Hamilton Matinee on Saturday then the Bears - Saints game on Sunday afternoon. I have a ton of Marriot points, and all the hotels are the same 35k / night. So any tips or recs on where to stay? I'm not a nightlife person, would rather be close to food than bars.

Also on the Sunday, Saints-Bears kickoff at 3:30. Blackhawks play the Caps at 6. How much of a pain in the ass would it be to get from one game to the other with traffic?

I’ll be in Chicago for 4 days in September.

What areas should i look for airbnbs in. what areas should i avoid?

Looking for good places to eat. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. plus good bars or breweries. I like anything from Pizza, good bar food to fine dining, any recs would be great honestly. I’ll pay back in likes and maybe above the pants, hand stuff.

    TIA.

I like staying in Lincoln Square mostly because I have a buddy with a family apartment there. You've got the zoo, easy train access and Uber is easy to snag quickly.

What's the place in Lincoln Park that does the piece of pizza a PBR and a shot of Jamo for like 7 bucks. I love that place

I think it's the Boiler Room but I could be way off.

    Edit: it's actually Logan Square

I've lived here for 13 years and just bought tickets for my first show at Northerly Island (Avett Brothers) for the first time. Figured it was time to change anniversary dates and not just do a nice dinner like we do every year.

I ended up booking at room at the Coutyard Chicago Downtown/River North, on East Hubbard. We're planning on catching a blackhawks game Friday night, Hamilton on one of the days Saturday, and then Saints - Bears Sunday. Is this a good location? Any good food spots walking distance around there I should plan on hitting up.

Yea it’s a good location. You’re right next to Shaw’s crab house which some people love, I think it’s just okay. But you’re relatively close to everywhere in the OP so I’d go based off that list and choose a menu that sounds good

Probably be visiting your fine city around October 21st. Wife and I are celebrating 20 years and tossed around NYC, Denver, and Las Vegas as ideas but kept coming back to Chicago because we both love it. Plan on staying at the Intercontinental (usually stay at the Hilton on Michigan ave), will go to the Bears-Saints game, maybe visit Willis tower, architecture boat tour, and eat Pequods.

Thinking about parking at the South Bend airport and taking the SSL to millennium park stop, anyone heard of any problems parking there?

#Chicago White Sox - Planning to go to the game on Thursday night, what's the deal with tickets? I see them as low as like $15 on Seat Geek, but would it be cheaper/better seats to buy them outside the stadium? TIA

tickets are less than $10 with fees on stubhub. stubhub is the best route unless you go to the stadium and someone gives you a ticket.

Saints - Bears is 330 kickoff Sunday. Blackhawks - Capitals is 600 puck drop. How much of a pain in the ass is it to get from Solider Field to the arena? Could I realistically do it and only miss the first period assuming the Saints are winning by 21 with 2 minutes left and I can sneak out a little early...or it's a normal game that doesn't go to OT.

A normal 3 hour game puts you at 630.

Plus getting out of the stadium, getting to a good spot to grab an Uber, traffic. ... that’s probably at least a half hour to the United Center. I think it would be pretty hard to catch both games unless you leave the football game pretty early.

An hour late to the hockey game wouldn't be terrible, which seems like you're saying that's probably the absolute best case with everything including the game. Damn. Can't leave a Saints game early, but was really hoping to see Ovechkin in person.

Whoever scheduled that Blackhawks games really should've put it at 7.
