I still think if UCLA gives him 4 or 5 years they will be good. Maybe Chicago will fire Helfrich and he can bring him back.
What in the first two years gives you that idea? Is it his record or recruiting that has you intrigued? Or is it his outdated offense?
After firing mora and paying somewhere around 12 million I can’t see UCLA spending the 15 it would cost to buy out Kelly if he is gone before year 4. He is here at least 2 more. We are fucked for a good decade because of this hire.
I’ve kinda stop caring in that I don’t have any expectations that we’ll get better. I watch and hope we win but I can’t even cheer or get happy when we do something good because I know we will do something to fuck it up in a play or two.
BC's AD heading to UCLA the financial landscape the Pac-12 and UCLA were already struggling to navigate is now even more challenging. Kelly might be one of the few people in America who saw their job security get much greater with the pandemic
fired Addazio who, despite his limitations, had taken BC to a bowl game in 6 of the past 7 years. And then bails before his replacement even coaches a game. And that replacement's claim to fame is being co-DC at OSU for one year and a whole bunch of stints as a DB coach could've fired Jim Christian well before the pandemic made it impossible but failed to act in time leaves BC considerably worse off than he found them IMO
I think that will be pretty widespread for football coaches at D1 level. Schools are going to have a little more difficult time putting the money together for buyouts. And I think a lot of coaches could in essence get a pass for how disrupted their offseason has been and it's not yet known what will happen this fall.
BC fans really seem to like him because he's young and energetic and I guess their marketing/branding has gotten a lot better. But dude you retained Jim Christian multiple times
i understand chip isn't beloved there but i thought he had made strong and coherent statements about the virus and playing football earlier in the spring, in defense of reducing or eliminating activities. https://sports.yahoo.com/chip-kelly...oing-to-play-up-to-the-experts-162112864.html obviously that could just be bs for the media and he's trying to do things internally differently, but that was right on the heels of governor newsom saying that sports in the fall wouldn't happen so it felt like a statement in support of safety
I really like the new kid HC for BC and I think it’s a good pivot for them. Young guy with energy who knows the game. then again I also thought UCLA did well hiring Chip so who cares what I think.
UCLA has outplayed us and would be up if not for their turnovers they actually seem much improved this year.
I’m starting to think he has to be doing this on purpose. No way he can suck this bad without actually trying to be god awful.
What big names are out there? Universities need to chill tf out god damn. My team included. fucking sickening to see these fucking idiot asshats give 10’s of millions of dollars to idiot fucksticks to sit on their pasty, flat worthless asses while people die and can’t even get $1,000 in relief aid. motherfuck
Will Muschamp is getting paid 15 m to just not do fucking shit. And Gus is either going to get 21m or he’s going to get 10m right off top and then get another absurd contract from someone else. Either as HC or OC. It’s really fucking bothering me rn for some reason.
