Super creeps also need to be buffed IMO. Between TP scrolls getting a free slot, TP scrolls not sharing the BoT cooldown, players having more gold, upgraded glyphs, etc. getting the first lane of barracks is just not much of an advantage anymore.
the roster rumors are wild (sumail going to liquid? one of the big vp two coming to eg? secret taking m_c) and i'm sad that ppd isn't apart of some big team
That Liquid rumor looks dumb lol, they'd keep w33, miracle and Sumail and they'd rotate between 1-3 depending on draft? right... Honestly I wouldn't be sad to see SumaiL land on another tier 1 team, fresh scenery, I'd follow that squad.
I feel like PPD will stay on NiP with 33 and saksa and add someone like micke or Nikobaby at carry and Matumba or CCnC at mid. Should kick saksa and add zfreek, who I think is a t1 pos4
I had seen rumors I think on reddit of it being Ramzes coming as their offlaner, with that being his preferred role.
madibariddim [score hidden] 7 minutes ago hello everyone . here’s what i’ve got so far: . Sumail & s4 leaving EG . MidOne leaving Secret . OG staying as 5 but ana on hiatus (obviously) . Pie & Sneyking kicked from Newbee . VP likely disband, potentially 2 or 3 rebuild team . Ramses joins EG in 3 . Abed likely to join EG, making roster: Abed, Arteezy, Ramses, cr1t, fly . Yawar, mss, svg and Ccnc (+ Sumail?? Unsure) . Secret want Matu but nothing confirmed . Liquid main 4 confirmed, not sure about w33 . Likely Alliance stay as 5 . No idea what PPD is doing :) . That’s all for now back soon . permalink give award lgdamefan [score hidden] 2 minutes ago this guy is good well shit
Yeah, I don't like many of those moves tbh. -MidOne is really, really good. Secret losing him might hurt a lot, and I don't think there's a better team he could join. (Maybe he just wants to go back to SEA) -VP is a team that also probably shouldn't split, but will due to another TI disappointment. -Ramzes as an offlaner for EG is a big risk IMO. He's a really greedy #1, and he's going to have to adjust his playstyle a lot. -Same issue with Sumail potentially playing with Yawar and CCnC.
Also sad to say, but NA dota has been dying for years. Fear kept getting older and fell off, Universe was a victim of the meta shift killing the thing he was the best at (Always managing to get something out of unwinnable solo lanes; solo offlane isn't a thing anymore) Aui fell off and retired, Kyle retiring meant NA lost the only other solid captain they had, Envy was never amazing, but he regressed and burned bridges left and right, and CCnC is probably the only new decent talent the scene has produced in the last few years. (The last one also resulted in PPD having to go abroad to find teammates)
Wonder if CoL would snatch up the new Sumail team if that happens. Just confused on positions, who would play what between CCnC, Yawar, and Sumail?
Such a weird roster. But seems rumors were true. Looking forward to seeing Sumail stack beat EG for tournament spots at this point lol
That EG team looks really bad on paper. I hope this means ppd and zfreek team up and run NA quals for the year, but that Sumail stack is sneaky good
Ban Waves ==== This update includes a few different ban waves for bad actors. The first ban wave is to players with exceptionally low behavior scores. We will continue to do regular ban waves for users who fall into this small percentage of the community. Users that reach this low level of behavior in the game are too big of a tax on the rest of the community and are not wanted. The second case where users will be banned today is for anyone detected of violating the Steam Service Agreement that prevents the purchase or sale of Steam accounts. Buying accounts to get a higher or lower rank is not allowed and causes negative side effects for the play experience of others. This doesn’t catch all account sales that happen, but we think we have caught enough to take some action. We are also banning players who’ve been detected using exploits to gain an advantage over other players. In the coming weeks, we will be refining the detection algorithms for these abusive behaviors and will begin issuing weekly bans that will go into effect without advance notice to violating accounts. Accounts that we ban will now also have the associated phone number permanently blacklisted from being able to have access to ranked matchmaking. Smurfs ==== We recognize that recently there has been an increase in smurf accounts. We share the sentiments the community has expressed on this issue and we consider it a high priority for us to solve as well. There isn’t a single solution that can address this issue easily, but we hope that a combination of multiple different changes over time will reduce the negative impacts and frequency of it. The first change in this area is the usage of phone number verification. We’ve found a loophole that allowed a large number of users to play ranked without a unique phone number attached. We have fixed this bug and any user that does not have their account set up correctly will be prevented from queuing until it is resolved. This will also affect accounts that have been actively playing in ranked matchmaking, rather than just new accounts going forward. We are also changing the mechanism to grant Ranked access. Rather than a fixed number of games, we are changing the metric to be a time based one and increased that amount to 100 hours of playtime. Any users that already have access to ranked without meeting this requirement will be removed from ranked until they’ve played enough time. Our general approach to Smurfs is to try to get accounts that are performing higher than expected to their correct rank faster. The first change on this axis is to adjust MMR by more than just +/- 25 when we detect that a user has been clearly over performing (based on how the played heroes usually perform at a given rank). This will be an ongoing process as we get better at detecting this, but from the data analysis we’ve done so far, we think we can make some progress using this. This change will be silent for a few days as we verify the detection mechanism is working as intended, and will be enabled once that is verified. The other change we are making is how we calibrate the initial ranked MMR for new accounts entering ranked. Leveraging the new hours played gate we are adding for ranked access, we will be using your account’s historical performance more aggressively to place you into a more accurate initial rank. In the past we introduced a really low cap on initial rank, we think that was a mistake on our part, because it caused smurfs to unnecessarily impact a large volume of games before arriving at a closer-to-accurate rank. Moving forward, we will be spending more time on live detection of smurfing and boosting behaviors. This will hopefully allow us to put detected accounts into an aggressive recalibration, resulting in a much quicker adjustment to an accurate MMR while reducing the number of games that are ruined in the process. In addition to this aggressive recalibration, we’ll also be detecting and banning accounts for egregious boosting or exploiting of game mechanics.
lol damn 100 hours of playtime. it makes sense but that's 2-5x longer than most games take to play start to finish
