I’m at a point where I genuinely hope UGA wins a national championship to just end this whole statewide debacle that has been sports
What shit did we start? Our phenom leadoff hitter took too long to round the bases after a bomb off your bullshit “respect the game” closer that blows kisses at base runners? Go fuck yourself Mike.
Boys, I know this is an unpopular opinion and I’m the first in the group to say this but do we think (and I know this is a little out there but bare with me) that possibly maybe Snit is a small part of the problem?
I really dont think it can be understated how poor of a message it sends to lie down and take it the way the managers and leaders of this team did. No heart from our best players, and a complete lack of response for the cardinals rubbing our faces in it by plugging acuna. A leader who doesnt stand up for his guys is no leader at all. We need a shake up in both managers and players after that mess. We need guys with a spine who can deal with pressure situations and wont roll over the way Snit let this team do
I don't think we have any leaders. Markakis is literally one of the worst players in baseball. Hard to lead that way. Freddie has never wanted to be the guy. He's always been more of a follow my example than a vocal guy. Mac/Donaldson/Keuchel guys have been here a season or less and are likely out the door. Probably not the guys we need setting the tone.
Donaldson was a beast this year, def cared and was super high energy especially during the playoffs he was never the problem. Its time to empty the minors, don't see liberty media giving us more $ to blow. We're not too far off and just need a few more pieces. Just bc the players like Snit doesn't mean we should keep him, he should be gone. Snit and Dan Quinn can share a flight on their way out of town IMO
Good for Washington. They didn't fold up and quit when down 2-1. They fought and absolutely earned it. What an incredible choke job by LA. The Nats are good enough to go deeper clearly. We like to hate on the Nats here but they have a bunch of likeable vets that I'd love to have as Braves. I really like Rendon, Scherzer, Suzuki, Zimmerman, Adams, Kendrick. Our players all like these guys too. There's a lot of respect there you can tell from their interactions. Turner and Eaton are pesky and great players too. I'm not a fan of Robles, Strasburg or Soto really but otherwise they're a pretty likeable team. I'll certainly pull for the Nats over the Cardinals after how STL has acted. My God what a bunch of cunts and they're still chirping. What an embarrassment this continues to be. From their post game celebration to quotes like this below. They treated the Braves like bitches and we just took it in our home park.
Such a weird time. We have the whole let the kids play movement.. But other teams seem to hate the shit out of Acuña.
Lots of people are jealous of younger more talented people than them in pretty much every career path.
So how does that explain Flaherty? I get old guys having shitty takes. But young superstars being dicks is weird. I guess he's a product of his clubhouse. I don't know.
Offseason questions and priorities: 1. Re-sign JD? If not, is Riley the answer? If not, what do you do? 2. What to do at catcher? Have pieced it together successfully the last few seasons, 2019 was held together with duct tape. Need at least one half of a platoon with Mac retiring, and does Flowers barely playing suggest they’re moving on? Complicating things is there’s not shit on the catching market besides Grandal. 3. What to do in the OF? Time to shit or get off the pot with Ender. Does Markakis get brought back? They really need to upgrade and get a middle of the order corner OF bat. Can’t pencil in Markakis as a 150 game starter again. So, could need one OF, possibly two. 4. Bullpen has some guys I’d like to re-sign, with DoD and C-Mart being at the top of the list. 5. In the rotation, have to make a decision on Julio’s option. Likely losing DK, but who knows what his market is after an up and down shortened season. Some of the kids deserve a shot, but likely need a middle of the rotation or better arm from outside the org.
I would guess that’s mostly Flaherty taking the side of his guy in Martinez and also Yadi influenced as well.
Yeah I don’t get that. You’re up 12. Why do you have to bust the guy inside? If he hits a homer, you’re up 11. Just pitch him away and don’t give him any good to hit. No need to go inside there.
He wasn’t pitching him inside though, he was throwing at him intentionally. We did nothing to protect our guy. I’m done with Snit after that honestly.
I can't get over that we just let them hit our best player at that point in the game/series and didn't retaliate. They already should have been livid with how the game was playing out and ready to unleash some frustration. To just roll over and take it is pathetic
On #3 any chatter on you guys pursuing Betts? Guessing he will be shopped/dealt sometime this offseason. You and the Dodgers based on early exits seem to be the obvious candidates.
I think there's a reasonable chance we try and wait for our two top prospects. Which means an outfield with Ender and Duvall for a while.
