the way DB recruiting has gone from mediocre, to great for like 2-3 years back to bad again this cycle is really weird. Sure there is some luck involved but still
he totally botched Thomas Graham's recruitment and Elijah Hicks to a degree but I don't blame him for what happened with Adebo since that was purely a school thing Add Graham and Hicks to this team and we're talking about an elite level D this year
There’s been an outrageous amount of DBs recently that ND finished #2 for and are now starting elsewhere also still don’t understand Mykelti Willians who is an All MAC safety at NIU
I think my all time favorite assistant coach who got fired for messing up in recruiting is Peter Vaas.
Didn’t Benn suck anyway? The recruiting battles that killed weis were plenty but not a soft ass wr. And his coaching also killed him. He gone Omar comes to mind and the most important McCoy not wearing a condom
So what are you going to be weird about tonight now that there's no game tomorrow? I might be a little drunk already...
By the time Weis figured out recruiting it was game over those first couple classes were laughable in retrospect
I sometimes go back and look at his classes. That 26 man first class was so bad like he thought he could just cut some dudes later
We signed the Gatorade State High School Football Player of the Year from every single shitty football state in the union.
Weis was incompetent but also unlucky, didn’t Aldridge blow his knew out after committing? And he was a 5 stars. Everybody wanted James Aldridge. And Allen also blew a knew after committing and before playing a game in college The lack of plan b was something that really hurt recruiting with weis too.
Send him a message asking why he fucked us over. Edit - in private would be the better option here imo
Weirdly enough, he and I tried to create a business venture because I’m in the mortgage business and he was a realtor.
he indeed was both, his problem was unbalanced recruiting. His first 2 classes signed a combined 1 DT, and that was running a 4-3 base iirc. granted ian williams turned out okay, but still. He also spent a good bit more schollies on offense than defense despite also getting higher rated guys on offense. His first 3 classes had i believe i counted 38 guys on offense and 29 on defense. If you look at for instance pro roster you should have more defensive guys than offensive guys.
Did someone remind IHHH There's no game today? Or are we going to let him drunkenly live post last week's game not knowing they're just highlights?
That sounds like a plan, i will rewatch the game at 7:30 and shitpost all the way to the end of the game
Lawrence’s regression is pretty amazing to watch. I guess Nd qbs are not the only ones that struggle after their first year
This may be super obvious but I completely agree - I think it takes about a season for dcs to (1) convince themselves a guy is an elite talent and (2) figure out what their strengths and weaknesses are. Sometime between the end of the first year and second year someone figures out how to stop them (unc for Lawrence) and they adapt or regress.
Wisconsin is gonna have two chances to fuck up Ohio States season (or Penn State if they make it out of the East)
Eh, not really. Penn State is gonna get whacked once at some point between tonight, @MN, @OSU, or Big 10 title game so I don't see them as a playoff threat to us and whether we beat #13 Michigan or #20 Michigan, I think the impact is kinda the same, so I'd rather not mentally root for Michigan. The "just this time" could be when they host OSU if we're 10-1 and #5 going into that weekend.
i really want to but i cant. I want them to lose in demoralizing fashion whether thatd be a blowout of a really painful loss at the end
