This might be a hot take but voting republican after the absolute disaster of the Iraq invasion (and everything else W did) is far more ghoulish than voting trump. Trump is way more disgusting on a personal level than McCain, but I’ll judge anyone harsher who sat through eight years of Bush and thought “yeah I want more of this” than someone who voted trump — at least so far.

Substantively, Bush was awful and the GOP sucked ass for 8 years under him. That said, Trump is doing things that look a lot like literally violating the Constitution, destroying for foreign policy to enrich himself, and is an utter affront to decency. At least Bush could throw it over the plate.

Voting for bush is like stepping into a bear trap that was hidden in a forest. It's devastating and you should have known better but you can understand how someone might not have seen it. Voting for Trump was sticking your finger into a pencil sharpener. It was completely and utterly indefensible at the time and literally everyone knew it would be a disaster, but it's still better than stepping in a bear trap.
Which makes voting for McCain choosing to step in another bear trap with your free leg. Hence my position of why voting for mccain is worse than trump.

Bernie (and maybe EW) lose to Biden (or other centrist) and Tulsi comes along to pluck away 3 or 4% of pissed off voters who refuse to vote for an "establishment" Democrat in the general.
