Bummer how the season has gone. What’s the general consensus on what the issues are? I love out in Denver but haven’t followed CU closely. Wouldn’t mind if they were good/exciting. Thoughts on Tucker in his first year? It seems like Montez has regressed. Obviously Laviska being dinged up here and there is a big blow. I really love watching him when he’s healthy. What’s up with the defense? Is it injuries or lack of talent currently?
No depth at DL or DB before the season. We knew we'd be in trouble if those spots got hit with injuries. Those injuries happened. We've started 34 different players so far. Montez is just mentally shot at this point. Red zone offense is awful. We need more talent especially on defense. Shit is spiraling quickly. Football is a dumb sport. Basketball team is loaded though. George Costanza
Going to Boulder on Thursday. Wish I went to the UofA game instead so there was at least some football related excitement.
If the OL could keep their shit together, this may be a 20 point game. That said, USC always has the athletes on DL that the Buffs can't quite match. Hopefully that ends soon. When they are not jumping, or holding, they are generally winning.
I don't know what to make of the play calling in the 4th, but my first impression is FUCK ME that was bad. Conservative, fucking punting in the 30's, fucking RB toss... Not sure what else to say. Terrible.
I’m not sick, but definitely fuck everything. It’s been 15 years of awful, terrible football. On the rare occasion that good things could be happening, even for just one game, CU almost always finds a way to shit the bed. I understand that’s what awful, terrible football programs do, but last night’s 4th quarter was a special kind of stupid. For me, as good as the Neb win felt earlier this year is as bad as this loss feels. Beating USC would have put the Buffs back on track for 6 wins and a little positive momentum.
I’m so used to losing I’m pretty much numb to it, but last night hurt. I haven’t felt that way in a long time.
Details from the game were a bit hazy at some points, so I decided to rewatch today. That was a poor idea. The list of “you’ve gotta be getting me?” Moments was longer than most of our losses this year, which is saying something.
Alright boys I’ve got a crew coming out for the Stanford game in two weeks. Haven’t followed the thread much but have been able to watch a good bit on tv even though some of the games have been late as shit here in EST. Injuries, depth and inconsistency seem to be big problems. Hope you guys can finish strong this year. Looks like we will be there for homecoming. Getting into Denver early Friday morning and staying in boulder since the game is at 1. Any recs for a few guys that have absolutely no clue what to do? I have a few food/bev recs from a previous post but what general gameday activities do we need to check out? What’s the tailgate scene? TIA
I was up there for their game Friday vs USC. First off, I love the Fuck em up Buffs chant. Clear, concise and to the point. USC fans were extremely cunty considering they almost lost the game. As far as pregame, I didn't see a whole lot of tailgating around campus. We grabbed lunch at Post off of Pearl St. It was a nice spot, good atmosphere and good food. Prior to the game, we went to a place called the Sink. This place seemed like an institution, we had a great time. I'm sure others in here can give better options, we kind of just half assed our way through town.
Tailgate scene at CU is pretty meh, as a majority of the students are a 10 minute walk from the stadium, but I’m sure a few posters here can find you a landing spot. You should definitely hit The Sink, but go early. On Friday I got there when they opened at 11am and by the time I left at 12:30, there was already a wait to get in.
I worked at the Dark Horse through most of school (yes, I was one of those people...half student, half transplant townie, all drunk) and we would just get housed there then take the short bus. Back in my day, the tailgating was almost non-existent. I didn’t realize what real tailgating actually was until I moved to the South.
I had an absurd hangover on Saturday morning and went HAM on the menu at the D Horse. Walked all the way back to Pearl after. Also, couldn’t stop laughing at a buddy walking straight into the women’s room when we went there weekly in college.
This post made me dry heave a little 1) High altitude hangover 2) Dark Horse food 3) 2+ mile walk You’re more man than I am. I would have 100% shit my pants about where K’s China used to be.
1. Pedialyte before I left hotel 2. Sourdough burger, wings, onion rings 3. Only made it to the UMC I also live in the armpit of America (Florida), so on a glorious 65 degree day Id walk around Boulder all day no matter how bad the hangover.
