Nope. That was the one that came out the year after event horizon and was more of a thriller, though both are similar and good in their own ways. Event horizon is the spaceship that disappeared then reappeared mysteriously. Sphere was alien ship at the bottom of the ocean.
The part where you like a very shitty movie. I had MoviePass when I saw it and still thought it was a waste of money
I'm sorry you did not enjoy it. It appears that at least 6 other people in here agreed with my take on the movie, and the 71% rotten tomatoes score would lead me to believe that the majority of people that saw it felt the same way.
So what should I watch tonight? Thinking about revisiting event horizon after the last few posts. Been a while since I saw that.
The horror movie selection on Netflix and the various streaming services seems worse than usual this year. Also every time I check the TV to see if something decent is on, there's about a 90% chance the only option is Halloween Resurrection.
The Babadook is the always highly regarded one that I don't get. I thought it was really lame, and I couldn't have hated the kid more.
I need to watch this one again. It's been a while, and I don't think I appreciated it enough when I initially saw it.
I'm scrolling through Netflix trying to get a good last flick in for the month while seeing what's been liked itt, not having much luck so far
Netflix needs to step it's horror game up, particularly in October. There isn't much worth a shit on there.
saw The Lighthouse tonight. Same director as The Witch. Wouldn’t consider it horror per se but it is anxiety inducing and fucked up. Worth the watch.
Would remove Get Out and Frailty and replace with The Descent and Martyrs. Get Out and Frailty were good movies but not nearly as fear-inducing as the other two.
You know it's a good representation of claustrophobia when the human-eating subterranean humanoids are not the worst thing you fear.
I gave Green Inferno on Netflix a shot, but tapped out at the bit where the cannibals were high got the munchies. I thought it was ridiculous that the movie was so goofy and I read on Wikipedia that Eli Roth claimed he wanted to give it the feel of a Werner Herzog movie.
Enjoying Marianne on Netflix right now, it’s in French so perfect for me. It’s well done. I would recommend if the subtitles are efficient
Dr Sleep was pretty good. Maybe not worth the $$ to see it in theaters but def worth a watch when it comes to HBO/Netflix. The Jack Nicholson lookalike cracked me up.
My buddy started a horror podcast l, slumber podcast massacre. It’s pretty good imo. Give it a listen if you like wasting an hour here or there.
I liked it. I thought getting the audience to hate the kid was important for what the filmmaker was trying to do.
If you are a fan of Ari Aster (Hereditary, Midsommer) then check out his short film "The Strange Thing About the Johnsons" on youtube. It's not horror but will definitely make you uncomfortable.
haha yeah. My girlfriend wasn't really happy with me after we watched it. I had no clue what it was about but she really like Midsommer so we jumped in fully unprepared.
