I think this tour he’s been playing the Sound & Fury album straight through because it’s a concept album. But last time I saw him he was all over the place, shredded a Rihanna cover actually, I think you were there. His big thing is not turning into a juke box and keeping it fresh so I’m sure whatever he plays it’ll be what he feels like and not beholden to a predetermined setlist. He basically does whatever the fuck he wants. edit: SAF is also only like 40 mins long so unless he’s jamming that fuck outta that thing, which I’m sure he is, they’ll have to throw in some other tracks.
Yes. But he also played ASGTE front to back when it came out. He did the same for those small shows in October with the new album. Everything else will be mixed up a little.
This was the set list when I saw him in DC earlier this month. The new songs sounded incredible live and they had only been playing them for five shows. Can’t wait to hear them once this tour gets going. Yeah, that Duluth, GA gig is an arena in the suburbs. Former home of the Georgia Force (Arena Football) and Gwinnett Gladiators (Minor League Hockey). For reference, I saw The Who and Queen + Paul Rodgers not sell that place out.

dude is getting paid. Hope the acoustics don't suffer. The two shows I could/might go to are basketball arenas.
“We are a live band. Everyone knows we are a live band. Steal the record or give it away, just come to the shows. For free tickets send a message to Tyler’s Instagram.”-- Sturgill Simpson
Went ahead and booked a hotel and signed up for tickets Couldn't figure out the amex presale stuff tho
Link for amex presale? I did verified fan with Ticketmaster, but having two approaches would be better. TIA
Here is all the different presale info that I pulled from the Hampton Coliseum event page: Sale Dates and Times: Public Onsale : Fri, 8 Nov 2019 at 10:00 AM Verified Fan Presale : Tue, 5 Nov 2019 at 10:00 AM Sturgill Artist Presale : Tue, 5 Nov 2019 at 12:00 PM Tyler Artist Presale : Wed, 6 Nov 2019 at 10:00 AM American Express Presale : Wed, 6 Nov 2019 at 12:00 PM Sturgill Songkick Presale : Thu, 7 Nov 2019 at 10:00 AM Tyler Songkick Presale : Thu, 7 Nov 2019 at 10:00 AM Sturgill Bandsintown Presale : Thu, 7 Nov 2019 at 10:00 AM Tyler Bandsintown Presale : Thu, 7 Nov 2019 at 10:00 AM General Presale : Thu, 7 Nov 2019 at 10:00 AM Tyler Spotify Presale : Thu, 7 Nov 2019 at 12:00 PM
Couldn't find a link Ended up on American Express.com entertainment section Found some sturgill stuff but it just linked me in circles back to the same signup for general public I think it's only available in certain cities, and Charlotte didn't show up. However, for cities that should be available I don't think that it is set up correctly yet Also from the post above mine it looks like the verified fan ones could be earlier than the amex ones anyway.
I signed up with a real email and a junk email. Told others to sign up. One way or another I’m going.
Actually thinking of doing Boston NYC back to back Just checked flight to boston and returning from NYC and It's $269 Norm Peterson
I'm seeing Tyler twice in the next few months, hard pass on Sturgill + Tyler in an arena. Shows in an arena blow. Really happy for them both, this is pretty groundbreaking for a non-radio/label artist. I hope it sells out
I disagree, especially with this new album. Crank that fucker up. Sure the acoustics are better at the Ryman. But I've been to my fair share of arena shows that didn't blow. Glass half full
I saw Stapleton at an outdoor amphitheater on his first tour after he blew up and it was the worst show I’ve seen in a long time. The crowd was just awful.
Doable since you can just drive. Want to do Austin but think we just gonna do Sugarland since we live in Houston.
could fly southwest into love field, then catch a von lanes from dallas to austin and from austin to houston, then southwest out of houston
You planning to hit the Hampton show? For as much live music as I’ve seen around the state, never have made it to the Coliseum. Not a huge Phish guy and it’s not exactly close/convenient, so really never had a reason. Pumped for this
Yea man definitely planning on it. I’ll have a 3 month old but as long as everything is going well the wife and I will be heading down. I’ve also never been to the Coliseum but a buddy of mine is a huge Phish fan and says the sound is amazing in there. He goes to like 100 shows a year so I’ll take his word on that. I actually brought him to the DC show last month which was his first live Sturgill experience and he’s hooked.
Stapleton's an interesting deal. I caught him in Athens at Georgia Theatre, was a really good show that I enjoyed. But also walked out thinking I didn't really need to see him again.
Sturgill performing Metamodern = Ryman Sturgill performing Sound and Fury = Arena and let’s burn this fucker down
Stapleton has an incredible voice and several great songs but not the depth of writing as these other guys.
