Yeah I would think they're the type of band that would play a slightly different one every show. I'll be happy with whatever they play but I really want to hear 46&2, Eulogy, Parabol/Parabola, and Stinkfist.
they usually play the same exact set each night (though on the spring tour they rotated between a couple Undertow and Opiate songs in one slot) but seeing as how it's a second show for Denver maybe they'll switch it way up and you'll get something they haven't played in a while
Appears that you'll get most of those tonight because Only 1 show but if last night's set is what's to be expected I might consider selling my tickets
Oh its definitely a great show, especially if you've never seen them live before. Like insanely good. It's just largely the same show they've been doing for a decade plus. I get that you're always going to hear the "classics" but there's a large segment of the fanbase that's ready to see stuff like Schism, The Pot, Jambi, Parabola etc rotated out for something that hasn't been played in a while like The Grudge or Lateralus. 46 & 2 might be my favorite song ever but its been a staple for so long that I wouldn't mind hearing something like H or Pushit instead. Not to mention they rarely play anything off of Undertow.
That and people are pissed they dropped Descending for another 10KD song which seems odd considering the new album and the fact that they teased the song for years
So it looks like they're just doing the Part of Me/Intolerance either/or for their sets on this tour.
Yeah it was the same exact set as the night before except for that switch which is pretty damn disappointing. Plus Part of Me is probably their worst song.
Played intolerance. Don’t remember that being part of the recent sets I was looking forward to pneuma live, but invincible was a better overall band performance Adam brought his young daughter on stage after, which was neat danny looked exhausted af. he’s a machine really clean overall That said, probably my last show for a good while. Love the band, but I’ve seen them enough over the last 25 years
Nice, that's one of their few songs I've yet to hear live that I really want to. Fingers crossed we get that and not Part of Me again. Still confused why there's no Descending.
yea, could’ve used tempest, but whatever. Interesting to watch some of the other concert goers. Guys next to me were younger and lost their shit when parabola started. found that interesting, but you like what you like I guess
Walking in now, ready to become Pneuma. Not normally a poster guy but the one for tonight’s show is fucking awesome.
Have you seen them before? It’s a great show and you’ll love it regardless but the new stuff sounds incredible live. They also had a new visual component for the first couple songs that I’d never seen before which was pretty awesome. Also I’m not sure how to describe what Danny does. To be able to do that at all is beyond remarkable but to do it at 55+ or however old he is continues to blow me away. Dude is a generational talent for sure.
Yeah, I've seen them 4 times now and 3 times in the last 1.5 years or so, just saw them in Louisville in May. Still excited to see them again.
Currently intermission at the Tool show. Big fan of the new stage setup, and they obviously sound fantastic.
I stumbled onto these guys last year with their crossover into metal/rock and their reactions just brighten my day. The sheer enjoyment, analysis, etc from a different perspective is awesome. Here is Pneuma.
Saw them again over the weekend. Show was amazing. Visual effects were the best I’ve seen from any Tool show so far. Only negative thing would be the sound quality for Killing Joke (the opening act) was so bad and overly loud that the majority of my section got up and went out to get drinks, bathroom, or just bullshit out in the halls till it was over.
Hadn’t seen the curtains (or whatever the hell you want to call them) before but that was a really cool effect to come out to
Very cool, the projectors on them giving a different image than the screens was cool I also liked they added laser visuals to the speaker stacks, and that Danny was in the middle. It was nice to see Maynard move to each side of the set during the show because of Danny's placement.
Excellent show last night - Light show was amazing. Killing Joke sounded terrible and was just ungodly loud (as others have pointed out) - I'm surprised people weren't bleeding from the ears tbh
Spring dates just announced. I expect we'll hear a slightly adjusted setlist this time around now that they're playing 7empest and reincorporating some low key great like The Patient and Swamp Song
They are playing Sonic Temple Festival May 17th in Columbus in place of Metallica. https://loudwire.com/tool-red-hot-chili-peppers-headline-sonic-temple/
SugarShaun already said we’re welcome to stay with him so don’t let hotel costs prevent you from pulling the trigger on tickets
Just got floor seats to the June show in Minneapolis. Long time fan, but this will be my first time seeing them live. I'm extremely stoked.
Just came across this on Youtube and came to post it. Guess I missed it in the thread. Danny is incredible.
oh no. The dudes in riot gear killed me and the one with the Mohawk looks like the singer from Mushroomhead
sitting in the darkness of my porch, drinking and listening to Tool....I guess I’m Mondaying pretty fucking hard
