So it’s basically 3 separate acts, 3 episodes a piece? I might try to wait 3 weeks and watch the next act all at once.
How long do we need to spoiler tag? Something I caught but was unsure about Spoiler where did he say they had to relocate to? It sounded like another planet/system? Does that new planet have prior SW universe significance?
I enjoyed the other bounty hunter saying "ee-chu-ta" (another 3p0 unit said it to Threepio in Empire) to Mando.
Going through that room John Wick style was one of the coolest scenes I have ever seen in Star Wars. Just electric from start to finish. We have a winner here.
Is the next episode Friday? I've seen conflicting reports it might drop on Wednesday due to the holiday weekend.
Was sweet to see Mando beat some empire ass. I liked the details they added with the beat up stormtrooper armor and their old guns that keep jamming. They’ve done a good job of mixing in just a little bit of the campy humor too.
I now look forward to Fridays the same way I looked forward to Saturday morning cartoons. The concept art during the credits is low key one of my favorite parts of the show. From the tone, score, minimalist dialogue, etc I adore how much of a Western it is.
Okay 4th episode. It was very much a live action Clone Wars which I’m okay with. I’d let Gina Carano perform a variety of physical moves on me.
It didn’t bother me too much but I bet a lot of people are gonna bitch about the dialogue in this episode. It was very colloquial. Not very SW and more casual American speak.
I enjoyed it a lot. Hope we see Gina and Mando start a little club. I do want to know some backstory on how they got a chicken walker on that planet.
I want to know how baby yoda is tracked w the FOB. Did the blue guy from EP1 have a FOB tracking him too?
Yes he did I was thinking maybe his ship itself is being tracked but I guess not if his ship is far away from the village. I'm not sure how those trackers work.
Thought the episode was okay. Very clearly a reset with this being the start of act 2 Act 1 brings Mando and Yoda Jr together Act 2 puts them on the run Act 3 (typcially) is when the showdown happens Had a very by the numbers plot. I thought the red eyes on the ATST was spooky in the night scenes. Although I laughed when they said "one of those can take out a company of soldiers" All I could think was "I've seen a gaggle of Ewoks take out a company of ATSTs." All they needed was some rope and a couple logs..
I thought it was salvaged crap leftover from the past battles fought on the planet. It seemed like at some point he mentioned past wars touching the planet when looking for a place he could lie low at.
Weakest episode by far for me but the LBY was redeeming as always, Carano was good, Mando had some nice but a little too truncated character development.
When Angel Dust was teaching the locals how to use the staffs I had to laugh because it was right out of Army of Darkness.
It’s hard for me to grade individual episodes because it seems pretty clear that it’s intended viewing is by its 3 distinct acts.
I did not like that fourth episode. Many elements just didn’t flow well for me. The background score at times felt like I was watching a Hallmark movie, with the little acoustic guitar playing? Horrible. I even thought some of the writing was subpar, especially in comparison to previous episodes.
for sure. But for me was just the first one where the drama felt a little manufactured and I found myself drifting in and out of attention
