Neutrals drop random and unpurchasable items that get better later in game, and can level to 30. wut games need to speed up not get later

I like 90% of the patch but RNG jungle camps dropping items is fun for pubs but it’s going to fuck up the pro scene. this much RNG is not dota
i actually really like the changes for the most part, and void spirit is fun as fuck to play pretty much have to relearn the entire game though
Trying to brainstorm how to optimally play void spirit. I don’t think he’s gonna be a great support. Tons of magic nuke but no team fight and not much utility. I think the play might be to go mid and build like leshrac with movespeed/magic amp. Problem with that though is you have no edict/building damage which you want as a mid. You could maybe even go Dagon. Get it early enough and you have enough magic damage to burst anyone on the map.
The best I’ve seen him played is as a 4, does good damage and hard to lock down. His little remnant thing is really good at controlling choke points in fights. Building pipe and aura items gives him team impact since he stays alive so easily in teamfights. cookie grandma is trash tho. cm, AM, ursa and Venge all nerfed in quick patch.
yeah no one knows how to play optimally yet. Game is completely different. Intermittent jungling from 5-10 minute mark and courier sniping might end up being huge. Deep warding early super important since courier provides base gpm that’s lost when sniped. jungle is more open and hard to choke/control. I don’t even know if taking offlane t1 first is best anymore, given outposts. team fighting used to happen before 5 minute bounties, but now getting both outposts right before the 5 minute exp bonus is suuuuper important. Controlling outposts leads to snowballing like crazy. No one knows how to play with these changes yet. Gonna be a shit show for a month at least.

What does a position 5 even do anymore? I saw some pros using flying courier at 15 to do all the warding and dewarding with shift queue commands since couriers can use items now. I honestly think we might end up seeing 2-1-2 lanes until 5 minutes then 2 man gank squads until teamfights start. Playing pos 5 feels amazing right now too. As a CM I had tranqs, double bracers and a cloak (into later glimmer) at like 10 minutes and had 50% magic resistance. Dewarding is ez because obs are free so I have tons of gold just sitting around
Queue times seem a lot longer than they used to be. Turbo takes 5+ minutes. Ranked AP fast queue timer keeps resetting after 2-3 minutes even tho the game join doesn't pop up.
