Saw it last night and would definitely recommend. Currently at 96% on Rotten Tomatoes--both the Tomatometer and Audience Score--and certainly seemed like the crowd was pleased based on laughs/reactions during the movie and as it ended. In fact, seemed like a movie that was better with a crowd for some reason, so if you have a chance to check out a movie during the holiday weekend/Thanksgiving Break, then I'd recommend this one over some of the other options currently out there.
I've seen The Good Liar, as well, and would certainly recommend Knives Out first. I thought The Good Liar was decent, it had some solid acting, but didn't think the movie itself was great overall. I still think Parasite was my favorite movie of the year, but i liked Knives Out a lot, too, while if you're simply looking for some easy entertainment over next few weeks then Ford vs. Ferrari is worth checking out.
Cool. I think I'm going to check out Knives Out later today. I've seen both Parasite and Ford v Ferrari too. Both very good movies.
I did see it this afternoon. It's entertaining but I do think both Parasite and Ford v Ferrari are better movies.
He most infamously did The Last Jedi. However, before that, he did Looper and Brick, which were both pretty good.
Jokes aside I just don’t like TLJ, but I still think he’s a good director, more than that I truly believe he did what he thought was great for TLJ and obviously lots of people like it I really like parts of it
looper was awesome. not a fan of last jedi or knives out. i'm not sure why daniel craig keeps doing "southern" accents. first logan lucky now this.
Maybe my expectations were too high but I was disappointed. The first 30 minutes were really good but I didn't care for the "reveal" coming so early or much of the storytelling after.
Average movie. Too silly at parts. Did like the dichotomy Johnson created between the patriarch and children.
It was fine - a 'nice movie'. The cast was high quality and all did okay. But I guess that was part of the problem for me - there were so many big names that they each struggled for enough screen time (JLC especially seemed wasted in a nothing role). Michael Shannon was one of the few who shone through, though Ana, DC and Chris Evans were also strong. Enjoyable, but probably something I won't remember in a year's time.
i really, really liked it watched this yesterday and it was great. rian johnson seems like he has infectious passion for film making. the thing he talks about in the vanity fair clip about phones will kind of ruin movies for me going forward, though.
