That's where the raffle was that I posted in the other thread. That place is niceeeee. Blarney Stone has Blanton's in stock for 79.99 lol
Also, buy the Chattanooga 1816 Cask Strength old labels while you can. Black label stuff is older MGP whiskey. The new stuff is their own distillate, which is decent, but totally different and not as good IYAM. They’re featuring a high malt mash bill now, which I’m not the biggest fan of
There has been some sentiment that we could use a bourbon thread with a buying guide on the top of page 1 for easy reference, and since the OP of the other thread doesn't participate, a new thread was created.
Props to tjsblue for specifically repping the Bourbon capital of the world. Shockingly, I don't drink liquor so I have nothing else to add.
I need another shelf or display before I can properly display mine, but I'm at about 65-70 types right meow.
I have built in shelving in my walk in closet and it’s where I store a lot of my stuff and it just looks sloppy right now, trying to figure out how to get it looking better.
John J Bowman Single Barrel for $50 is a must buy every time. Buffalo Trace mashbill bottled in Va at 100 proof.
I have a bar in the basement, displayed like 8 bourbons (along with various other things), then got serious, and added another shelf that holds probably 30, but now I have it stashed into every nook and cranny of the front and back bar. Another shelf may not look right, so I'm looking into some display shelving with glass doors.
In addition to pricing ranges, I am hoping for a few other categories of postings: 1) flavor profiles of tasted products 2) recipes for tested cocktails 3) mashbills of tasted products 4) the occasional foray into recommended Scotch, Canadian, Japanese & Taiwan #1 products will not be hated (by me).
I'm not saying what I drink, or what I can get. Because every time I get a favorite, the fucking internet ruins it by putting it on some ranking and drives the price up. Stupid internet
Why stop there...Years aged, proof, location of juice, location of aging, distiller, burn level, links to reviews, master distillers name, states it isn’t available, drop dates, good years/ bad years, picture of bottle, aging process, awards, trade value, is it something artoo is going to be pissed we posted about...it could be the longest first post in history but I think TLDR is in play even with the first cut so we’ll need layers to make it digestible.
I haven’t seen a bottle of Blantons in over a year and one place that said they would have them apparently sold them for $120. The bourbon market in Atlanta is a racket.
they actually finish it by sticking a cinnamon broom from Hobby Lobby in the barrel for the last six months.
Can't be stated enough. They take advantage of younger idiots hyping stuff up that's widely available outside of the city.
