Has anyone camped on an island on Lake Lanier? Thinking of going striper fishing and then camping out
If you want to get out of midtown, check out A Mano in Old Fourth Ward. I also really like Marcel, Cooks and Soldiers, Donetto, and Boneyard in West Midtown. Ticonderoga in Krog is excellent, and I also actually really like Bazati on the beltline near PCM. I personally don't love many of the midtown options, but South City Kitchen is solid as High Cotton said, and my gf really likes Lure but I haven't been. Empire State South is solid as well, but it's not open for dinner tonight.
Appreciate it. Will probably venture outside of midtown tomorrow. Will likely choose between South City or Cypress tonight.
Is there a Savannah thread? If so, can't find it. If not, anyone have tourist reccos for the city? Have been a few times, but always just did normal stuff, and have never acted like a tourist.
Returning back for Shaky Knees this spring. Have to choose between Lazy Betty or Redbird, Saturday night. Any thoughts? Thanks.
When did Shaky Knees get so expensive btw? I feel like it was $80 a ticket the first few years now it’s $195 for GA
We found a rental at the Lilli in Midtown. I think Lazy Betty is more convenient but if Redbird was worth the trip than we would head there.
That seems like a lot to justify the three bands I want to see every year. Does it have to be prominently displayed?
What sort of stuff are you looking to do? And when will you be here/how long? If it’s touristy stuff then you need to hit up Wormsloe Plantation, bonnaventure cemetery, do a haunted pub crawl at night and ride the orange tour bus during the day. If you don’t want to do the haunted pub crawl then look up haunted hearse tours and ask for Pegleg Ron. Sorrel Weed House is a pretty good tour but do the ghost tour not the day one. If you want recs for like restaurants and stuff just let me know.
Not really. We usually visit ATL twice a year and do an elevated dining occasion each time. Have done Gunshow, Staplehouse and even made it out to Kimball House last year so those two I mentioned above stood out but if it makes zero sense, will try again another time. Friday will be at 8Arm and then bouncing around that area. Saturday either back to Midtown or old 4th. thanks, CB
I can literally walk to get B's Cracklin as they sell it in Murder Kroger apparently. Is it that much better than Sandfly? You liked Cracklin better right, Gaknight ? Also, foodwise, we need a lunch spot Fri/Sat and dinner spot for Thursday.... We did The Grey last time we were in town -- can't remember what else we did though.
I like Sandfly better and they have a location downtown at the streamlined but I’ve only been to the one in Sandfly
Big fan of Sandfly. Which Kroger is Murder Kroger? The one on Victory? If you're near that one then you aren't too far from my house. If you haven't been to Collins Quarter I'd give that a try. It's a really cool spot inside/outside day/night. Circa 1875 is a good night spot with French Food and The Tavern at Old Pink House is as well. The Peregrine is a good rooftop bar if it's nice outside. If you're looking for some moderately priced stuff then Crystal Beer Parlor, Sandfly, Tubby's (off of Victory on the way to Tybee), Green Truck Pub, and Flying Monk. Honestly you can just go downtown and hop from place to place. Pinkie Masters and McDonough's if you're trying to get hammered one night.
It's the one next to PCM. They tried to rebrand it as "Beltline Kroger" but then another murder happened in their parking lot after they started that campaign.
Thank you! It looks great. Have never ventured out that way, closest was One Eared Stag. Will definitely consider.
Will be at Shaky Knees too. Pumped about this years lineup. I live a block away from Lazy Betty. Seems like you know the food scene, so you will enjoy Lazy Betty for sure.
It’s a great time, not as obnoxious as some other festivals. Lone concern right now is the bff only cares about this wild angels and airwaves appearance. If we bump heads I’ll buy you a beer and talk Blackhawks corsi ratios
