Benefits of finishing first - not sure anybody on that list scares me over two legs. I’d like to avoid the Madrid’s more on the hope that they knock someone else out than being afraid to play them.
Lyon or Atalanta. Atalanta is playing at the San Siro because their stadium isn’t up to uefa standards.
If true, and sounds like it is. I love it. He was a real menace in counters, link up play and attacking situations. Wonder what his role will be rest of the year, back up the front 3 and emergency midfielder? At that price you have to buy but I’d say his coming into the team creates an odd man out in the near future - Shaq probably.
Yeah would have to say most likely Shaq, looks like Brewster was going out on loan anyways Stinks, he was so clutch for us at the beginning of last year
Watching all of the UCL games and in particular yesterday I was like fuck this Minamino guy he's all over us. Haaland gets all the headlines but Minamino was running that team.
Ya he'll play all across the front 3 which probably means Origi only comes in when he's playing up top for Firmino. I think you're right about Shaqiri with him being relegated to playing cup matches.
I can't argue with the purchase because it seems like a great deal. But I wish we would focus a little attention to the defense and not where we already have a few players.
I do wish they'd do something similar and grab a left back and center back as well. I know its asking a lot but this isn't the season to drop points because you needed people to play out of position due to a shortage of players.
to be fair, Origi has stepped up every time he’s been asked, but I agree in the sense that Minamino fits the “idea” of a versatile fourth attacker for our system perfectly. Can play wing, 10 and false 9 based on what we have seen.
Right Origi is my hero but he's so much better when he plays as the 9 as opposed to being on the wing. There's definitely room for both of them on the team. Minamino also means we don't have to play Ox in the front 3 where he's terrible.
Agree with all the points made. Great buy but want some fullback cover, unless they believe the young guys (hoever, larouchi) are close. Would want to see them in the 18 a little bit more then.
Saw someone tweet this is the kind of player in 2014 that Southampton buys for 7 mil and a few years later we buy from them for 50 million
Minamino seems like he can play the Firmino role and we can keep the system the same. He was fucking annoying as hell to play against.
Also another wonderful example of Edwards and co. getting smart business 97% done before the rags can even make up a rumor and the situation gets messy.
Glad he compared him to Son because that is who I thought of at first too. Then thought, no thats lazy and racist, think of another comp so I didn't post anything.
I like him so much better than Son too especially with the price tag. Obviously signing Son would have been a boost, but I wasn’t thrilled about it
