Sucks that we were terrible and not in a great position to buy while the market was deflated the past two off seasons. I don’t think Rendon made us a contender next year but would’ve been a lot of fun. I’m fine with money whipping Donaldson for 3 years. Gives us a small chance to contend with the current core/pitching staff and hopefully some of the young prospects develop over that time and we can build an actual contender. there’s a decent chance Rendon isn’t worth near 35 million in 3-4 years when we are more likely to be in a position to seriously contend.

Do people actually think Rendon and Ryu or whoever else would put us ahead of the Astros? I would rather us be decent than bad and I think we would be decent with Rendon but I don’t think he really fits our timeline perfectly because of his age. I wish we got him but I am not like overly pissed about missing him. There will be other free agents. We need our young players to develop. Our best prospects are still pretty far away it seems like.
Rangers don't have a timeline because there is no young talent and especially no young pitching in the pipeline. This is as dead as I've seen this franchise since before Oates. Can't draft worth SHIT. Fucking idiots are running this franchise, even the new stadium is ugly and has turf.
our young prospects suck compared to most teams. we have no can’t miss prospects. just a bunch of middle of the pack guys. only way to get better is spend or trade everyone. and they’re not doing either just staying in the mediocre and likely well below now. minor and lynn probably regress a bit. the bullpen still sucks. still have odor. still have deshields. still have no fucking catcher or 3b. guzman sucks.
How do the owners avoid all the criticism they should be getting daily from the local media? The only person they ever take shots at is JD, and while he definitely deserves some criticism, I put a lot more of this on our shitty ownership

idk why i thought there was a decent turnover but yeah i agree. i have no idea who the owners are and what their intentions are. cuban, jerry, gallardi are all guys that are in it for the sport and to win. seems like we’re backed by private money that is looking for the safest return.
