And they showed video if Dan being super handsy. I dont think they fabricated anything. But they did decide to use to their advantage which is kinda icky.
Dan and Karishma are going to end up in the final 3 and I am going to hate myself for wasting the 16 hours of my life watching this season.
I meant the whole sexual assault fallout. Listened to a couple podcasts an think I’m up to speed on what went down.
Sorry, misunderstood. CBS tries to save shit season by playing up when sexual politics mixes with gameplay
this is a bad take. Multiple women says he made them uncomfortable and it was shown on camera. It was harassment and has no place, game or otherwise.
Missy is just an asshole. I was fully expected Karishma to vote w Missy like a dumbass. Split tribal was a good twist.
I can't stand dumb shit like that. Dean was locked into the final 4 with 3 people who cant beat him in a challenge and 2 people that could never win the game. Instead sides with the dude who doesn't need him and who he has no chance of beating.
First of all - Didnt Lauren have an immunity from last week? I though if she won the Idol Island bet, she got two weeks of immunity? I must of made that up. Second of all - why were these idiots so insistent on voting out Karishma? No one seems to like her, she's not getting votes to win. She's a perfect candidate to drag to the end. I also dont get the Karishma hate. She kind of sucks around camp, but I dont think she's done anything to deserve the hate she gets.
Ah I misunderstood. I thought she got it for two weeks in a row. I should have known better because that seemed like too big of a reward.
This is the WOAT season. The Concept: Dogshit. Rob and Sandra added nothing except a stupid lesson that should be common sense. Ate up a lot of time in the episode each week. The Cast: Dogshit. From wildly annoying insane cast members to a creepy inappropriate touching dude who had to get a warning about his touching, to the people who used his touching against cast members who felt victimized and those who were trying to protect her, to just idiots doing idiot things. The Gameplay: Dogshit. No moves, no plays, no strategy. Its a sleeper. Overall: Never do any of this again and stop with the low effort twists. Edge of Extinction was a dumb concept, millennials vs gen x vs boomers was stereotypical pandering to boomer viewers, bringing back 4 previous players is lazy, but this is the worst season and they need to burn this wacky twist concept to the ground.
I just looked and I guess boomers weren't included in the millennials vs Gen X season but they might as well have been, it was full of confessionals of the millennials saying shit like "why would I work hard, I'm artistic." Or whatever. The gen X was like "I busted my ass to get where I am and these people just want everything handed to them." It was very cringe. Every season since 32 has had a stupid theme. How could I forget Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.
I want a season with no hidden immunity idols and no twists. Just two tribes and one merge. It’ll never happen but I can dream
this is one thing I see people say all the time and it just isn't true. These things aren't easy to find. These are people stranded on an island with absolutely nothing to do. The "camp" portion of each episode takes up like 15-20 minutes at most and that's usually about all of the strategizing that goes on. There really isn't a lot of strategizing that gets cut out of the game. Most of the real game is spent waiting around for the next challenge/tribal. Their options are sleep, talk to each other, or search for idols. I remember the season with Tony and everyone was saying who he found the idols too easily. Then the post-season interviews came out and they said he averaged like 6+ hours a day of searching for idols. That's definitely not easy. As for the amount of idols, this season is different, because of rob and sandra, but the reality is that the game has changed. It used to be someone found an idol and hoarded it until the end of the game. Now, they get played almost as soon as they are found because people have realized that it's a lot better to use the idol to flip the game now rather than wait until you are on the chopping block and buy yourself an extra 24 hours before you inevitably get sent home.
It looks easy because everytime they show people looking for an idol they find one. They need to start edititing in short clips of people looking and finding nothing because they way it is now as soon as you see someone searching you know they get one.
Survivor handled this pretty poorly. They are doing their best to edit it so it looks like they tried to help but they should have pulled Dan from the start. Tommy is going to win this shit because he's the only one who had no comment at all on the Dan stuff and my gut is saying that was another editing decision to protect their winner from the drama. Now they aren't doing a live reunion, likely so they can control the conversation again.
This season is a dumpster fire. Island of the Idols is stupid as fuck, the way they handled the Dan shit was incredibly stupid.
good article I read on all of this. Looks like more information has come out. He touched a camera women getting into the boat after the challenge. Kellee issues a statement too. What a mess for the show. https://www.theringer.com/tv/2019/1...-spilo-removed-harassment-season-39-episode-9
I feel the same. I felt bad for Janet for defending everyone then getting thrown under the bus. That was wrong on so many levels.
I was reading that Tommy had no interviews or comments in the Dan shitshow episode and people were saying it was a good sign he was being protected in the edit because he was going to win. It seemed obvious to me that was the case as the season unfolded. Noura was a goat the whole season and ruined the end IMO. A stronger player at the end would have changed the whole dynamic.
Did Janet lose on a litteral coin toss? I saw a Reddit post that laid it out and I'm pretty sure it cost her the win. Without the idol nullifier Janet wins the fire making contest and almost for sure has the votes. It would suck to lose a million bucks on some shit like that because Probst is so twist addicted that he runs out of ideas and just starts flipping coins for advantages.
Not technically but yes, it ended up playing out that way. Dean won the coin toss, picked the Idol nullifie. Janet told Tommy that she found the idol, so he knew right away. Tommy partnered with Dean and then told him about Janet's idol. Dean then knew exactly who to play it on along with everyone voting for her. I think the nullifier was way too OP to be able to use that late in the game, or at least it should have been incredibly hard for anyone to have earned it in the first place.
Also some thoughts on the finale and season. Tommy was clearly the right winner. Based on all the things said last night and in interviews it was clear he was running the game through everyone. Him convincing Naura that he was terrible at fire making was awesome, she is batshit crazy. With regards to the controversy, not sure the show had a different choice but thought they did well in admitting complete fault in it all. I thought that Kellee did well considering she was in such a tough spot. At least everyone involved could learn from it all. Season 40 looks fun as hell and I am excited.
Did they not let Kellee know that she was going to be speaking? She seemed caught off guard and not prepared. I get that she was nervous but she looked completely lost like they just asked her to speak 5 minutes beforehand. Jeff saying Missy and Elizabeth don't deserve the hate is ridiculous. If it weren't for them then he would've been kicked off the show much earlier.
