I hope so. Though allegedly this season cost them 120 million so I don't know if they are going to go much bigger.
so far, that strikes me as outlandish when compared to a whole season 7 or 8 of game of thrones they need to get more sensible. For example, the ice monster that appears in episode 1: cool? Sure. Lasts 30 seconds and is pointless to the story except to establish that Mando can...escape from scary things by shooting it with his rifle? How much did that thing cost?
Agree on the side mission stories imo they are just trying to appeal to an incredibly wide age range.
One thing about original content on streaming services is that they arent required to fill x amount of air time so sometimes you end up with eps that are like 20% shorter than others. Star Trek: Discovery pulled this bullshit also Still enjoying regardless
Episode was great Spoiler 3 x-wing pilots were episode directors Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow
Favorite part Spoiler was it turning into a sort of mini slasher movie, but then revealing he didn’t actually kill any of them
That was great even though it doesnt advance the plot at all. Also a cool tie-in to Resistance, which I have been hate watching. It's so bad, but at least there was a tiny pay off.
The space station they were on, is introduced in Resistance. It's the lightest of tie ins, but it's something. meh
I enjoyed it the best of the past three but it has all the same problems as the past three. 1. It's completely expendable 2. It has horrible acting 3. It feels like a Clone Wars throw away episode which is fine when you have 22 shows a year, but there's only 8. Quality over quantity demands quality. Nevertheless It has some really cool moments peppered throughout and baby Yoda is unfair
I liked it. Was hoping baby Yoda would force crush the droids head. Speaking of, is there any baby Yoda merch available for X-Mas? Everything on amazon or Disney’s website says it’s not available till May. How could they drop baby Yoda into the world and not have toys ready for Christmas? Seems shortsighted in my non expertise opinion.
They cared more about keeping the secret than selling toys for Christmas and I love and respect them for it
It built a little bit a back story for Mando and further established his moral compass but other than that I agree, didn't move the plot forward. We only have two eps left so I hope something happens next week.
OK, so when the kid cries on Christmas morning because Santa didn’t bring a baby Yoda I’ll tell him it’s cool cause my e-friend Shaun loves and respects Mike Eisner. Spoiler JK. Just breaking your balls. It just blows my mind that they flushed away billions by not having a ‘tickle me Elmo’ like toy ready to launch the second Disney+ launched
I caught up on eps 5 and 6 over yesterday and this morning. I enjoyed the first few episodes and that arc but I'm not really enjoying the show much/this season as I don't think the show has built on what was seen in the early episodes. The main character is boring; he wears a mask so he's never emoting. The dialogue is plain and generic. It's fun that it references a lot of SW stuff (a lot of which probably goes over my head) but the show feels empty in a way with scenery and characters. The stories have been of the episodic adventure type. I'll finish the season but there are a lot of shows that are far more entertaining to me.
Im also questioning if he is a bad ass bounty hunter or if he just has the best armor in the galaxy. He sure does seem to get punched, kicked, and shot a bunch.
I’m not sure what this show aspires to be, but it’s succeeding at entertaining me every Friday, isn’t that enough?
The show is very entertaining. I personally like it a lot, it sounds like people are just trying to find something to complain about with it.
Was great to see some X-Wings, always loved their design. enjoyed the stormtrooper joke I read this week that there’s two stunt doubles for Mando: one for fight scenes and one for body language acting. You can tell once you’re looking for it, Mando gets real beefed up during his fight scenes. Is Pedro ever in the suit?
This has been my point to my buddies for a while. I enjoy the show a lot but for supposedly being a badass, he sure gets his ass beat a lot.
Have really enjoyed the show but there sure have been a lot of one off episodes for only an 8 episode season. As stated hopefully some plot development happens in this next episode. Baby yo is just the best. Every time baby yoda gets in a potentially dangerous position I get so scared.
let’s be real here the only time he’s gotten his “ass beat” was when trying to get the suekah suekah. The appearance of him getting shot/hit more times than most Star Wars bad asses is because he doesn’t use the force and isn’t a Jedi/sith. The show would be corny Episode I-III trash if he was taking on groups of 8+ and never got shot.
