"Cool, let me name my favorite reissue picks now that it's 2019 and you can listen to anything you want from any time anyway."
I am seeing Julia Jacklin on everyone's list but not Hand Habits. I'm confused; I got way more into the latter
Believe it or not, there is a lot of great music that's both our of print and not available on streaming services. Those Death records that got reissued a few years back are an example but certainly not the only one. Also, some people like to have the physical media. My main stereo is LP only and has been for 15 years. I enjoy finding out when something I like goes back in print so I don't have to overpay on discogs.
well according to the quietus list, Thurston Moore had another album this year, let's see if he can come in hot late in the game for me like he did a couple of years ago
Oh sweet jeebus it's 3 tracks spanning 2 1/2 hours I consider myself a patient listener so song length generally doesn't deter me, but not sure if I have that much time for Thurston
Georgia from Camp Cope dropped a solo album today, "Pleaser." Was not expecting the indie-pop direction from her, but glad she went there. It works.
Looks like your pest band and lenguas largas have some copies of their Japan tour split leftover, available from midtown island at the link below. I'm sure they didn't press a ton of these so don't wait too long, won't be around forever. Also friendly reminder to get your personality cult preorders in to Dirtnap.
Also don't be afraid to dig into some other your pest band stuff even if those songs didn't grab you at first. One of my favorite bands I haven't seen live
Rolling Stones top 50 albums of 2019 http://www.brooklynvegan.com/rolling-stones-best-50-albums-of-2019/
When I was a youngster Rolling Stone was great. Not saying it’s not now, I honestly don’t have a clue, but all throughout middle school and HS we used to live off finding new music through the college charts section.
Maybe I’m just being beaten down by time but this is such a hard year to pick best stuff. I’m a huge Big Thief fanboy and their second album fucks but I’m not sure I’d say it’s “best.” Cornelius Suttree as the leader what do you want us to rank? Actual top 10ish or alphabetical topish?
Watching this Diarrhea Planet blu ray and it's so amazing. There have easily been like 200 stage dives hah. It's a great testament to the fun loving and generally welcoming environments their shows always had I had an easy time coming up with a top ten. My next ten were tough to rank. Would go alphabetical based on your first sentence but maybe try to indicate your album of the year if possible
Ranking every album would be difficult for me too, and I never have a set number for my list, if I enjoy an album top to bottom enough after a few listens then it generally ends up making the cut. Think I had close to 15 a year ago and maybe 9 this go around.
In case anyone missed Midheaven's mailer yesterday, Eddy Current Suppression Ring decided to drop a new record out of nowhere. Next week.
Jericho Sirens is friggen nice, I typically enjoy this sound but most of the time a full album becomes monotonous to me, they did a really good job of throwing just enough variety into this thing to keep me plugged in though
Top 75 songs of 2019 per GvB http://www.brooklynvegan.com/gorilla-vs-bears-top-75-songs-of-2019/ Pitchfork put out their top 100 songs and Lil Uzi Vert was #15. Bad Bunny was #5. So I'm not linking that
Gorilla vs Bear songs of the year playlist on Spotify...been listening for 5+ hours and I've added 2 songs to my personal list
Patrick Flegel, former member of the amazing band Women, now releases music under the name Cindy Lee. A new album is on the way in February first single is called Heavy Metal

Always felt like that singer would outgrow the band, not saying that's what happened here, but she's a star imo
It can be tough to find picks in those lists if you don't care about pop, folk, hip hop or social justice :/
came across this album surfing a few lists and been digging it the last few days. I thought I had seen it mentioned here before, but couldnt find a post. kind of old dirty projectors meets yoshimi era flaming lips
Omni tomorrow night pretty good best of the decade list below IMO https://aquariumdrunkard.com/2019/10/30/aquarium-drunkard-decade-2010-19/
Frankie Broyles on guitar another best of 2019 list below. It was meh IMO https://gothamist.com/arts-entertainment/absolute-best-albums-2019-confirmed
SIAP but you might love this one then https://thequietus.com/articles/27504-quietus-albums-of-the-year-2019-norman-records and I'm hesitant to post Vice links because they seem shitty as hell in a lot of ways. But it's just a top 100 list so whatever https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/3kxxw9/the-100-best-albums-of-2019 and oh baby you want a great resource, well Cal Berkeley's student radio station has a monthly listing of their top 100 albums. Might want to bookmark this https://www.kalx.berkeley.edu/charts/top-100
ladies and gentlemen, this is how you end of the year list, brief paragraph description complete with embedded track, I'm not even through the 90's yet and I've already got a couple of albums downloaded to dive into
