My work schedule has been terrible so the first two weeks of December haven't been great for me. I finally got back on the bike yesterday and did Robin's 30 minute HIT ride. Scored right at 300kj but it felt good rather than like work I did not want to do. I'm going to try to hit the Silver medal this month. My plateau of 10kj/min boils down to me not riding enough. I need to ride the bike more to get to the next level.
Day 17 10 min core with Robyn 30 min arms and shoulders bootcamp with Olivia Heavy bicep and shoulder circuit Been using these blood flow restriction bands and hoo boy it's made a good difference. Only three days in but I like.
Day 16 - 30 minute strength with Andy It’s been a while since I’ve done a regimented strength program so I figured I’d try the new four-week program they’re promoting. The workout on day 1 today was good, but I forgot that Andy has that lisp. It’s completely distracting and almost a deal breaker for me.
He also says “yeah, baby” an excessive amount. I like the program so I’m planning to continue, but yeesh.
"Let's get it!" In all seriousness, when my shoulders are tired as shit I literally think about him saying "shoulders like boulders, baby!" and it somehow keeps me going. Cheesy but it works.
The wife is talking about getting one of these fellas. What percentage of classes does everyone do live, as opposed to recorded? Looking at all of the cycling options out there
Get out. I think you’re a huge douche, but this is a safe space. The only difference between live and on demand is that there’s no chance of getting a shout out if it’s not live. That’s really it.
I only do live for milestones rides or if something peaks my interest. Probably 95% of my rides have be “on demand”.
Did a 45 minute hip hop ride with Alex. PR'd it. Rode basically 15 miles. I think I can hit the gold achievement even though I barely rode the first half of this month.
I've done 2 live classes in 24 weeks and I think I joined both midway through. On Demand is the vast bulk of what you'll do. I was honestly surprised how few live classes there actually are if you are thinking about it per day basis. Not that it's a few...just less than I thought since it's all out of only 2 studios and one of which is in London
Thanks for the feedback. I assumed that the live classes were the glue that kept people engaged. I know I always work out harder if I'm in a group.
You won’t notice a difference. You still see a leaderboard with everyone else’s output at the point in the ride you’re at.
there isn’t a difference between on demand classes and live ones if you’re not doing a milestone class. By milestone I mean like your 1st 100th 500th type class were the instructor might call out your user name. You honestly won’t notice the difference between on demand and live.
ned's head to add to this you can filter between everyone who is taking the class at the time you are and everyone who has taken the class. So you can compete against “live” riders.
Day 17 - 60 minute Christine climb ride. Spent half the ride waiting for Donell Harris to make his announcement, only to watch him troll us and pick the fucking jizz jars. Fuck him and fuck this ride.
Bike arrived monday, but had to wait on shoes. Shoes arrived yesterday afternoon, but my internet went down at noon. Hoping to finally try this thing out today. They also sent me a hat and water bottle. Not sure if that was because I used a referral code or if it was some kind of Christmas gift.
Anyone else have a hard time understanding Leanne Hainsby? I decided to back out of an archived class after 5 minutes bc I couldn't pick up her words. Might be a southern thing...
I came home yesterday pretty tired and worn out. I had decided in my mind to do a 30 minute low impact. But then I saw Jess King's screencap on a 20 minute hip hop class. She's something else. I did that and a 10 minute cooldown ride. I'll do a 30 minute low impact tonight as I am actually pretty sore now.
You need to go to Amazon and order a pair of padded cycling shorts and something called gooch guard, which is a cream for your nuts and thighs.
Day 19 5 minute core with Alex 10 min HIIT run with Robyn Heavy bench and lat pulldown circuit 20 min chest and back with matty
Days 17 and 19 sleep meditations. Day 18 20 minute Holiday ride with Tunde. 15 minute tabata ride with Olivia. 15 minute HIIT ride with Emma. 10 minute cool down ride with JJ and 5 minute stretch with Robin.
unless you do the 90 minute or 120 minute classes you won’t need either. I rode a lot out doors and have never needed the shorts for the Peloton. Honestly you’re not in the saddle long enough especially if you’re used to long outdoor rides.
Did the 20 beginner ride with kendall. 101kj. not a big fan of the motivational speech. i doubt i'll use the shorts much. I've never used them IRL for rides that are under an hour. if i do a bunch of days in a row i could see my ass getting sore.
I rode multiple times per week for a while and had a lot of chaffing which led me to Google and to the gooch guard. It worked and I haven't ridden without it in months. I only ride once per week now so I may be fine but if it ain't broke...
just my opinion. When I first started the peloton I used my bike shorts because I thought I’d need them. I stopped because I just don’t need them anymore. If it works for you use them.
I moved the handlebars up to max and bumped the seat up a couple and felt 10x better. 20 min holiday ride with Emma, 12/20/2019. 167 kj
Day 18 yesterday - 30 minute strength with Andy. Legs are dead, so probably just gonna do some meditation later.
Day 21 10 min core with becs 45 min arms and shoulders bootcamp with Olivia. God she kicks my ass. Day 22 20 min core with Speer 20 min yoga flow with Margaret? I forget her name. She's no aditi
Day 19 - Foam rolling quads session with Emma Day 20 - 30 minute total body strength with Andy and 15 minute Alex ride for charity Day 21 - Strength test and tried to do a 45 minute just ride but my internet kept crapping out
Day 23 10 min core 20 min hip hop run with Robyn Heavy chest back circuit 30 min Oliver advanced chest and back
Day 21: 45 min outdoor run/walk with Rebecca more walk than run because I took Groot with me. Day 22: 20 minute meditation with Anna. Day 23: 30 minute HIIT and Hills ride with Olivia. 10 minute cool down ride with HMC and 5 minute stretch with Olivia which sucked because of country music. Tomorrow I hit a milestone birthday so I plan to wake up early go for a run to the beach and enjoy being alive. thank you guys. One day I’ll rant on here but I am truly blessed to be alive. I never thought I’d see my age.
