I think the top of the draft shapes up well for us regardless. If we're in the top 5, I don't think we can go wrong with Okudah, Chase Young or Derrick Brown.
How would you feel, if we are the 4th pick in the draft and only QB off the board is Burrow, about trading down? I would imagine the price could get high if we are slotted in front of Miami.
Could get on board with this depending on how far back we go and what else comes back with it. We obviously need talent and getting more young talent is important. That said we managed to draft a fucking TE last year so lord knows if we can trust that we get this right.
Trading down is reasonable if they can still get at least someone like Epenesa or maybe even a top OT. Quinn talks every year about trading down and then takes 2 minutes on the clock before picking, though, so I'm not expecting that.
Where does Quinn rank among Millen and Mayhew? As much as Mayhew was awful I think he was better than Quinn. Millen the worst.
I would love for both guys to go but it was never realistic. All you can hope for now is that Patricia turns over the D to someone younger than Constant
This will end well “(Firing Patricia) would have been the popular choice, the popular decision, and we knew that," Sheila Ford Hamp said. "But as I say, we’re doing what is right for the organization.” While the Lions are staying the course with Quinn and Patricia, they are mandating staffing changes. The Fords did not single out any specific assistant who is out, although defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni has come under the most scrutiny because of the downfall of the defense. It ranks 26th in total yards allowed, and is just 844 yards from matching the franchise record from 2008 with two games still to go.
I think Quinn is on par with Mayhew to this point. Mayhew had prime Calvin and Stafford and never built anything around that. Prior to this season, I thought Quinn did a better job building the rest of the roster, but didn't have a prime Calvin or anything like it at the top of the roster. I'm not absolving him of blame on that, just saying he didn't walk into a generational player like Mayhew did. This year's defensive roster has been a disaster, but I'm not sure how much of that is on Quinn and how much is on Patricia because at least some of those guys seem like they've been good players before and aren't now.
Both those idiots drafted Top 10 tight ends, mediocre LTs in the first, interior linemen in the first, injury prone RBs and shitty LBs in the second round, and a scattershot of useful players here or there. Quinn gets credit for Galloday, Robinson and Hand, while Mayhew drafted Suh, Stafford, Slay, Diggs and Riddick, but over 8 years. Jesus they're both terrible.
If we're doing that let's just go with Stephen Belichick and hope he's got that full autist strenf like his pops.
Big game today bitches. Rooting interests today Miami over Cincy. Giants over Redskins (I think Giants have better shot of winning next week).
Watching this Titans game and their TE is a stud. Drafted in the third round a couple years ago. Hockenson was terribly disappointing this season.
5-11 Sunday's early games also solidified the Lions' 2020 schedule. The Lions host the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and Washington next season, plus NFC North foes the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears. Along with the Packers, Vikings and Bears, the Lions visit the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans and Arizona Cardinals.
