Binged the show in 2 nights. Some unnecessary changes from the books that made the show weirdly paced. Minor complaints overall. excited because they still have a lot of book material that should be easy to execute which is pretty high quality next season or two. After that I think they’ll have to make it up as they go, or wrap it up, which wouldn’t be a bad thing
ending of season 1 spoiler Spoiler I mean, in the books, when the trader asks him what he wants in return for saving him in the graveyard, he again claims the right of suprise... and when they get to the guy’s house, Ciri is there waiting and she runs into his arms (but they’ve met before that in the books in the woods outside Cintra/Brokilon). I thought episode 8 should have ended with 2 more scenes: 1 introducing Ciri being brought to Kaer Morhen for training and another showing Yennifer and maybe even Triss surving Sodden Hill.
Rant about Sodden Hill/Episode 8 Spoiler the show runners really fucked up with Sodden Hill timing. They specifically put in the script that the whole Ciri running away was an immediate precursor to that fight. in order for the future Wiches/Mages council meetings and even more future Coven meetings to make any sense, a long time needs to pass between the events at Sodden and Yennifer trusting the other mages with bringing Ciri there. Especially her relationship with Fringilla. by making it happen in “modern” or concurrent with other plot episodes, future meetings are going to make no sense and will be really awkward to write from a scripting standpoint, and it was completely unnecessary. Also making Fringilla a major character during the battle of Sodden now is going to cause huge issues with scripting later.
You're posting in the video games forum/thread about the tv show not following the books? Spoiler her getting more of a voice during sodden helps with making her familiar to viewers if the show gets to the part of them spending a winter in wine country.
Finally clearing up some leftover Velen quests. killing the Sylvan gave grilled pork as a quest reward
If you spare the Sylvan and tell the villagers about the passage you found, you can come back a few days later and find their bodies in the basement.
Went down a well to pick some flowers in oxenfurt, ended up killing a giant toad and a bunch of foreigners and a mage. I should probably go get Ciri at some point. Or just see how far the game lets me play without continuing that story.
They should get someone who's had experience playing really old vampires. Like a Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt or Gary Oldman
Oh man my dandelion take was terrible. Dude’s performance on “toss a coin to your witcher” was worth it
Got reinspired by the show to play this game after only briefly playing it on release. I must’ve played about 9 hours straight on Sunday. I haven’t done that with a game in a long damn time. I was worthless and it was wonderful. Game is great, I’ve finished a lot of the main stuff in Velen. Not sure how long it’ll be until I move on.
I always do. I’ve played RPGs my whole life, but this may be my favorite since ME3 (excluding the ending) or F:NV.
I’m biased because i love witcher 3 like nothing else game wise. Im interested to hear how you feel once you’re done because in my world it blows away any ME game. Also for the love of god play both expansions. the quality of those are insane.
Thinking of taking the dive into this game. I rented it once when it came out and played it but haven’t thought about playing it since. The whole having to level up your forging and whatnot threw me off.
Was about to get into the last part of the story quests but there's two Witcher contracts left to finish. Can't go out like that.
First ending for the sword made for Ciri and became witchers together but forgot to kill radovid. Went back to save and went and killed him but also killed djikstra and saved Roche or however it's spelled. Second ending ended up with Ciri leaving to be empress of nilfgaard. Still got a sword from killing the Griffin but wanted to get the one made for her.
I grew to like the second time I played through B&W. With the right deck build it can be absolutely dominant.
Same here. Once I created a solid Skellige deck, when used properly, it could absolutely dominate. I ended up using it about 50% of the time.
Haven’t gotten all the cards for it yet, but seems like it could easily be a deck with over 30 cards in it.
Anyone used mods allowing you to buy all the Gwent cards at the Baron’s place? Or the mod that gives you a random Gwent card after every Gwent win no matter how many times to play the same guy?
I'm clearing out stray question marks on the continent. Running into bandit camps OP as fuck is one of my favorite things in this game.
Heart of stone was fun and a good expansion. But blood and wine feels huge compared to it. Really glad I did heart of stone first.
I think it might be time for me to replay this game and up the level a little bit. Need to finish my play through of XCom 2 first, but then this will be on the agenda.
Meet up with the duchess of Toussaint in three morning to start a quest. She's all give me just a moment to change into something to travel incognito. Shows up later and it's nighttime. What took her bitch ass so long to get ready?!?
Finally beat the base game last night. Did every single quest I found and all contracts. I just started hearts of stone.
It was like, really fucking good and stuff. I got the ending where Ciri became a Witcher and Geralt moved to the wilderness with Yennefer while Nilfgard controlled everything. Oh well, radovid shouldn’t been suck a raging dickhead.
