definitely something I'm going to try. I wouldn't say I'm a terrible putter and keep trying to fix the issues with a new putter, just that I really like putters and I could use swing lessons instead. yeah they are.
well actually his bulldozers move faster than others so it balances out the time he takes to construct the fairways
Playing out a kiawah tomorrow morning. Location is unknown at this point, getting on no charge somewhere with a friend that works out there. There is one time at the ocean course that we can have if someone doesn’t call before 5. If not it looks like we will have osprey to ourselves.
Getting some new sticks and looking for a little advice. I’m currently playing with Cobra SZ’s that I got in I believe 08. Based on my price point I’ve been looking at M2’s, M4’s, a day the Callaway Rogue irons. I’d say I’m an average golfer. Typically shoot between 85-92. I play my irons pretty well but need the upgrade. Any of y’all with experience on any of the irons and any recommendations on which set? Open to other options but trying to keep it around $600.
I play a few times per month right now. I’ve got a one year old which has decreased my playing time but will be joining a country club again this summer after moving to new city which should ratchet my playing to a few per week. I’m not opposed to a fitting. I just assumed that would ratchet up the cost. Frankly I know jack shit about getting set up with the right clubs. I’ve always just gone out and played. But I upgraded my driver (g400) and figure it’s time to upgrade the clubs. I have hit the m2 and the rogue. Rogue sounded cleaner but I could bomb the m2. I know the golf shop had to have messed with the elevation or something on their cage. I was supposedly hitting the 7 190+ in air and around 210 with roll. Which, I don’t believe but I am pretty long on my irons as is. Putting is where my game goes to die.
With the amount you play/plan to play I'd lean towards doing a fitting. Like was said above, most fitters will waive the fee if you buy through them, although if you're set on getting a few year old iron set I don't know if that'd change anything
Thanks. It’s not that I’m set on a few year older clubs. It was just my assumption based on my available funds that the best bet would be going for the previous years model and google seems to tell me m2, m4 or rogue are the best options within my budget. I’m going to ask if they’ll do a fitting but it will all depend on the costs.
Went with the Rogues. Pretty much all felt the same. Little longer on the Taylor Mades but more feel on the Rogues.
46 and 50 part of my Mizuno set. 54 and 58 Vokeys, need to replace the 58 and am looking at going to a slightly lower bounce that would match the 54
47 PW 54 60 surprised people dont use their 60 more. Thats what Im using around the green 95% of the time.
48 PW 56 60 Typically use the 60 to hit elevated greens, but most comfortable with my 56 in terms of feel.
Kessler Karain is already back on the bag for Reed this week. How is that possible? Spineless shit from the Tour
Unless I missed it (which is entirely possible) they never announced any type of suspension for him other than that last round of the President's Cup.
It’s something I haven’t really put much thought into until recently . 52 56 60. Been thinking about getting new wedges this year and going down to 50/54/58. But I suck anyway so it won’t matter too much.
Right, I don’t think I heard anything come after that either. The Tour is always tight-lipped with their discipline issues so I wouldn’t expect an announcement. Would be pretty weak on their part to only suspend him for a single round in which he’s not getting paid and let him return the first tournament possible where he will collect a check
Just replaced my 60 with a 58 to make it a little more versatile, but it was my absolute go-to for any shot around the green. Just so comfortable with it.
I have an illegal bag and carry a fuck ton of clubs. Pitching wedge with my iron set. Then I have a 48/52/56/60/64. Never hit the 64.
Dave Pelz thing used to be to carry a lot of wedges and drop a 3 iron or 5 wood since you rarely hit those. At one point I had a PW, 56, 60, and 64 but was still at 14 clubs. Like you, never really hit the 64. That was when I was in high school though.
My new iron set was de-lofted, so the PW that came with the set is 44. Additionally I have a 48, 52, 56 and 60 in the bag.
My new putter went missing 2 weeks ago after having a bunch of people over after the bar. I had written it off to my own stupidity for leaving my bag in a common area around people I didn't know. We got home from the bar tonight to it leaning against the door with a note: Great joke! Fuck you.
If we’re doing wedges why not the whole bag.
